Sheesh…2 and a half hours later……
some key points that was proposed on the meeting for tournaments…(all proposals has to be approved by DIAA)
something new and different is the brackets will no longer “rebracket” so if you’re the 1st seed, you will play the lowest seed but you won’t continue to play the lowest seed through out the playoffs.
teams must play 80% of their games to qualify for the tournament (meaning if the maximum number of games is 10 you must play 8. If it’s 8 games then you must play 7)
Teams will receive 4 points for a win, 2 points for a tie, 0 points for a loss.
1 bonus point for playing a team .500 or greater, add one more bonus point for a team that’s .700 or greater, and add one more bonus point for a team that’s .900 or better.
Playing up a class (1A playing 2A or 2A playing 3A) will receive 2 bonus points win or loss
(Out of state teams will not count in this)
Championship locations and times will be for debate because you can’t have 4 games in one Saturday, it makes for a 12-13 hour day. Location could be UD, DelState, Certain high school stadiums (point of this is trying to save costs…at all costs)
Class 1A will feature 8 playoff teams, with two districts the top 4 teams in each make it.
Class 2A is 12 team format, With 3 Districts, top 4 teams in each qualify. Top 4 overall teams receive a bye
Class 3A is open tournament and top 5 teams receive Bye. Seeds 6-11 will play each other highest vs lowest.
remember, playoffs will no longer rebracket. Almost like how the NBA/March Madness does it.
