I hope this letter finds you well.
First, let me tell you how much I admire your family. Your father, Paul Brown, was truly the father of modern professional football. I rooted the Browns until he sold the team to Art Modell in 1962. I was thrilled that he reentered professional football as the founding owner and coach of the Cincinnati Bengals. He helped stabilize the old American Football League and gave them the legitimacy they needed to merge with the NFL.
I read where the Bengals and Coach Marvin Lewis will be parting ways at the end of the football season next month. Based on this change I want to highly recommend Brian Kelly to be your next head coach.
Coach Kelly is an offensive genius. I am convinced that he could turn the Bengals into a Super Bowl contender. He helped turn Notre Dame into a Top 10 college football team. He has tremendous leadership qualities. This may be an opportunity for you to turn the franchise around and help you to complete your efforts to fulfill the legacy of your great father.
Also, Coach Kelly still owns his house in Cincinnati where he was the highly successful football coach at the University of Cincinnati earlier in this century, you probably wouldn’t have to pay a realtor’s commission in the move.
