Projected Division I Playoff Seeds...???

2 Smyrna 5.6

3 Sallies 5.4

4 Middletown 5.4

5 Mt. Pleasant 5.1

6 Sussex Tech 4.9

Thoughts...???

Any other predictions...???
 
I hope that Smyrna doesn't get the #2 spot over Sallies because of points. If Penn and Sallies win out, regardless of the outcome of Penn/Sallies game, those two should be the #1 and #2 seed.

The way i would like this season to play out if its these 6 teams that are in the playoffs: the first round have Mtown play Tech and Mt P play Smryna.

Then ideally i would think Smyrna would beat Mt P and Mtown would beat Tech.

Then Smyrna at Penn (since we already saw Smyrna/Sals) and Mtown/Sallies.

One way or the other i want to see Smyrna at Penn.

As much as I look forward to Smyrna being in the playoffs (to postpone the beginning of wrestling season!), I also hope that common sense is used instead of points to determine the top two seeds. I think WP/MT and SAL/SMY should be the semifinals. I'm just tickled to have Smyrna in the discussion. Who'dathunkit?!

I like the Smyrna story this year. I think its great to see another D1 school emerge and especially one with a different style than we are used to seeing. Now i just want to see them against the other top teams. I wish we could see them against both Mtown and Penn in the playoffs. That would be great in my opinion. Smryna got smacked around by Mtown in previous years and now i would be real curious to see them against the Mtown defense. Then IF they get past Mtown, i would want to see them tested against Penn (in addition to seeing Penn tested against an offense like Smyrna). IF, they could get by Penn, how great would it be to see a Sallies/Smyrna rematch in the championship.
 
The Slowskys have to win out to get in the top 2 seeds. They did this to themselves by their poor play at Judge. Looks like a potential semi final game at Smyrna where they would lose. Bummy believes in the point system.
 
Father Judge is better than I thought. Now ranked in the Inquirer Top 25 Oh, and the point system sucks. Nothing like being the BHC and have 56 points in the bag before the season starts for Penn and MT.
 
Unfortunately it doesn't look like Sals will get bonus from Judge.. Judge has St Joes Prep and LeSalles left.. I dont they think they win both of those to get to 7 wins.

Old school dont get too far ahead of yourself lol. I dont see Smyrna beating Penn at all their front 4 at Penn are too big and strong on both sides of the ball. Smyrna will get to the playoffs but thats about it . If they couldnt beat Sallies what makes you think they have a shot against Penn .
 
umm WP hasn't beat Sallies yet,, your talking about WP like they are some DI laden top 100 National team.. yeah your right WP is wasting their time playing these DE teams they should have scheduled Gilman ..

Teams do improve and Smyrna is improving especially in the trenches. I don't think they would beat Penn but it would be a very competitive game.
 
So you're saying, Uncle BumF'er, Sals should have played in state, D1 for points rather than embracing out of state challenges?

They already play the top D1 opponents, including their long time traditional Catholic rival. Guess that's not enough for you. You had them losing to Concord, now to Dover and most likely to WP. I assume you'll ultimately add St Marks to that list, too.

I look forward to you getting lost offline for another year.
 
Defense - I said IF Smryna gets past mtown and IF Smyrna gets past Penn. not saying Smyrna can beat either. Jeez. Don't get so defensive. Haha

I'm excited to see a new team that has a legit chance. But I think penn is still the favorite.

What Uncle Bummy is saying is that if the Slowskys had beaten Judge then going 9-1 (losing only to Wm penn) then they would have gotten a first round bye. Now, they can still get that bye if they run the table.

Otherwise they will probably have to play at Smyrna in the tournament. That will be daunting.

My instincts are that the Slowskys go 2-2 the last 4 games.

As for you Raven do you watch any football on Saturdays I just speak what I see and I see Penn being the better team than Sallies its just the truth they are faster , stronger, and have more weapons . So yes I see Penn beating Sallies yes and I say 27-13 .

2-2 ? Maybe a loss to William Penn. Who else?
 
I don't know. The Slowskys have a solid schedule. The remaining 3 games other than Penn are Dover, Sussex Tech and St. Marks. Dover just had a horrible 1st quarter against Cape. They dominated the rest of the game. Sussex Tech may be too athletic for the Sals. Look what happened last year in the tournament. St. Marks has Salesianum's number. Remember last year.
 
Dover is way to inconsistent to compete against Sallies...

Sussex Tech might have a very small shot at un upset...

2015 St. Mark's... Really??? Me and the Middletown Class of 1990 would have a better shot...
 
Dover is always a scary team with an upset in them but losing to Cape that badly isn't a good sign.

Sussex Tech is an overrated team. I know they played without their best player last week but they were awful . Plus that game is payback for the Sals.

St . Mark's doesn't matchup with Sallies at all this year. No shot.

Ravensrooster - William Penn HATER I SEE.......Wp has not beat Sallies but they have beaten everyone who has came in there path. Dominating most of them. I think you are the best till you get beat. Sallies I feel can beat Penn. But to see you trash a team I just don't get it. I know the guys who coach that team and they are class...

huh? not hater of any HS team... That shot was directed to the poster I responded too..not the team.. and it was just tongue in cheek as Defenserests likes to pimp his squad... its just in good fun and forum chatter

Saint Marks battled St. Georges tonight. It was back & forth until Saint Georges took the final lead with about 5 minutes to go. Salesianum had their struggles tonight so it might not be a good day to grandstand.

True its not like Sals isn't going to be #1 when the next polls come out.. WP did nothing prior to this game to not warrant being ranked #1.. Its not like Sals didn't give up 50+ to Smyrna and lose to Father Judge or have a lackluster performance vs Dover.. the ranking was legit
 
Its going to come to WP, Sals, Smyrna, & MT! IMO, 2nd Round goes as follows WP vs MT & Sals vs Smyrna! Chose your poison! Playoffs should be exciting thats for sure!

RR I think WP gets #1 seed based on points, I think HS Football will get us straighten out with points
 
There are still two weeks and bonus points have to be added in.. SALS SOS will give them the 1 seed IMO
 
before this game its was Penn- 40 pts and Sals 37... for the D1 win Sals gets 6 and WP gets 1 So its Sals 43 and WP 41 before any bonus pts
 
I dont think Smyrna beats Penn in the playoffs if that's who they face especially after todays loss Smyrna isnt Sallies thats for sure .
