Quality HS coaches in DE!

Seems this forum is ripe with those who criticize everything DE basketball. Maybe its time to give credit to the coaches that give DE basketball a good name. Coaches that are all in and develop DE kids, coach a great game, irregardless of the talent they are handed. Those coaches that get the most out of their players...

Coach Avent from Delcastle, Dude can coach up some players and can get them to perform. Rough year this year but made a great run in the tourney last year with subpar talent.

Coach Lisa from Mount. Gets a lot of attack on her but she does wonders at Mount. They have been a competitive program for years now! Lost a lot last year and came right back this year fully loaded.

Coach Pierce from Poly-Tech, they don't have much basketball talent going to that school mainly baseball kids but he always finds a way to get the kids to play together and give good effort.

Then of course Waterman, he has the most success turning kids into D1 athletes.

Everybody DD mentioned and I'd like to Sobocinski at Hodgson and Christensen at Penn - two very disciplined teams and that's a tribute to their coaching staffs.

Stan is the best. Nothing really to talk about... When U produce D1 players years after years.. No ones close...

Completely agree that Stan is the best. But there's a lot of other food coachs in DE. I get at the end of the day everyone goes off of how many D1 players he produces but there's a lot more that some coaches can provide for their kids.

Agree hes a great coach, but he gets quality D1 prospects. He is not solely responsible for his players success.
To add to the discussion, Sanna from St. Marks. Not crazy about the style but they can be dangerous for a bunch of baseball players.
Haley from Sals, one of the best defensive coaches around.

Sorry but Pierce from Poly isn't a good coach to me. He's been there for years correct? Lets think of the flat out D1 talent Poly had at the same time! When you had a Kendall Gray and Anthony Myles on the same team. I think they had the pg Kenny who could shoot from anywhere at the same time running the show. Recently they had Mallory and Juwan Gray on the same team and didn't really come away with anything to show for it. They lost to Cape that year in the Conference Championship game at Poly! All I'm saying is Pierce could've done a lot more with the talent he's had come thru Poly.

Poly coach is average. I know it's early in his career but I like the job Woodbridge coach is doing so far also CR coach is pretty good

Well im pretty sure PIERCE IS A GOOD COACH REMEMBER HE COACHED POLY WHEN THEY WON LIKE 65 STRAIGHT IN THE SOUTH AND THEY WERE BEATING THE NORTH TEAMS AS WELL.. RECENTLY HE JUST WON THE HENLOPEN IN 2015 ONLY 2 LOSSES THAT YEAR WAS TO ARCH BISHOP WOOD AND TO SALLIES IN THE CHIP.... And had the toughest route to the bob Howard,Concord,Sanford,Sallies...

What happen to coach Flowers Of Concord. Good coach that usually is always in the mix for public schools. I personally think Stan is in a different league so I am leaving him out. I look at year in and year out having his teams compete at a pretty high level with whatever teams they have and always seems to make the playoffs. I like:
Flowers
Sullivan
McCants
Christensen
St. George coach

I know he's not the most popular, but you gotta give credit to Stan Waterman. He developed 2 of the most supreme bigs to ever play in 302, Jake Walsh and Connor Rufo. Both can dominate the paint and finesse from the arc... And let's not forget how strong Connor is!

i would argue that stan waterman is incredibly popular... how could you not be with those deep, sexy eyes and that heart-warming smile. As I have said before, the man is an absolute treasure... the way he connects with his players, it's just so evident that he touches each and every one of their hearts. From teaching guys like connor rufo how to deal with the pressures of college scouts and girls coming at them from all angles, to the more simple parts of his life like kicking back with a good book, the man can simply do no wrong

@hoopcentral12, no shame in trying, you seem to be a straight shooter so go for it, I'm not an expert but hey if there ain't no shame in your game, handle ur business haaaaa, plus I owe Stan for a last second loss in seafood back in 83, you can be my payback or it could be the beginning of something special lol
