I think this is devolving into a meaningless conversation but I know guys who have coached at both Sallies and then other schools who found having lots of speed at the other schools to be a luxury. Sallies has some pretty fast guys, but I am talking about overall team speed and how it can be deployed against a bigger, stronger opponent.
I do not like the move to spread offenses. Football is becoming more about speed and trickery - I consider them rough touch offenses, but they can win games as was witnessed yesterday. Speed has also become more important on defense. Witness the move to smaller, faster, finese defensive linemen in college and the NFL.
Did you see Judy's quote in the paper.....he said something like he felt if they stopped Reeder Sallies did not have anyone else who could beat them. I think he is a little full of himself because a sophomore QB starting his first game in the state Championship in front of the largest HS crowd ever in DE almost beat him. However, he might not agree with your assessment of his team.
