Finding my love of football in NYC was not easy, but I can tell you that what Tubby did down here made me understand there was more to life than the NFL. HS or small college football was laughed at in NY when I was growing up, but I and a few of my friends loved it. UD, Hofstra, Brooklyn College, I could go on. But Tubby was the class act of it all. I never met him, I never spoke with him, but his leadership and coaching has forever shaped me. I honestly believe he made D-II football.
