Comment on WI's offense. Can they win it all with that Barry Alvarez run first philosophy?

My future son in law is making an argument that WI is analogous to Salesianum.

Give me some ammo to argue with....please....I know you guys usually know the X and O side...

Not sure what you’re looking for but I am an old school guy. I don’t like the demise of the fullback. Ratheman, moose Johnsonn, Etc. I dislike the current basketball on grass offenses. It’s boring to me. I am not a run only guy but like a run pass balance. Imo you need a good fullback to achieve that balance

Yes, Wisconsin has been run first since Alvarez left ND as a Holtz assistant to become HC a couple decades ago. He is now AD but his successors share his philosophy. Yes, WI is really dedicated to the run. Yet to win last night against the Canes they passed the ball like 34 times probably more than twice as much as they usually do.

If your son in law means that both Salesianum and WI are run first.......then he is right. That is the only thing analogous.

Thinking it through I think he maybe he also meant that Wisconsin like Salesianum was good but not good enough to make the tournament. (just kidding). 13 -1 is not too shabby. Ohio State rained on their parade..
