A. It was neat seeing an All Star Team formed to play against everyday schools.
B. Too bad the quarterback didn't pan out
C. Smyrna might have beat them anyway
D. Raven only liked it for a little while
E. A few players progressed and would have anyway

Raven liked it for a little? Wasn't he their biggest cheerleader? Didn't he think of father Sills as a revolutionary and defend him no matter what?

I thought the premise was cool, putting a team together from the first state to play against other teams from around the country. Didn't believe they should of played DIAA teams. Just saying

I think it's important to beat a dead horse from time to time to remind the living horses who defended the dead horse and thought they were right that they were wrong. Oh so wrong.

@Pickles, beating a dead horse is one thing but nagging is just as bad. You keep nagging and you end up an old lady with 20 plus cats. Next thing you know you smell like cat piss and no friends cause you stink. Everyone else smells it but you, so please stop nagging. And damn it woman get rid of the cats. The ammonia smell is burning my eyes.

Wait what, pickles is ur neighbor.....sorry about ur luck bro....I thought ur eyes were red from the ganja but it's the cat piss, my bad for the malicious accusery haaaaaaaaa

Better to own a cat than to be a pussy, jus' sayin'

I think an entire board should be started and dedicated to Red Lion academy, what went wrong, who's fault it was, lives improved/hurt, people who were on here aggressively defending RLA & Sills 3 who ended up being very wrong. That would be very interesting. Could form the basis for a 30 for 30

We shall see this on American Greed on a given Tuesday night. Sills, what a broke ass punk spending money like it was his. Acting like it was his. Even the online computer school cut him off. Even got kicked out the building. Where was the NFL money coming back to safe the CHRISTIAN academy?

Yeah the claim of being a Christian school is so off the mark. Greed is not a trait devout Christians have. Or lying or using other children for your (child's) benefit and then discarding them when you're done milking them.

I wish someone with a different POV on the subject or anyone who used to defend them would add to the conversation.

I know I troll a lot but I'm really genuinely interested in hearing the other POV. To me it 100% seems like he did everything he could to surround his kid with a bunch of other good kids and he had no intention of building it to last (past the point his son was on the team) and when the kid went to WVU the dad abandoned the kids he sold the dream to

At a high level- is that true? Was it not that bad? Much worse?

30 for 30 was gonna interview you.....until they smelled that piss, I told you to get rid of cats and to think you could of been a star lmao, just trying to help

I know you guys are simple former High School players, coaches, and fans. This guy played the whole system well and you guys cheered him on. Too bad you didn't get to know him better.

Don't know the guy, don't want to know the guy and care nothing about the guy. If you guys want information this topic has been covered up and down like a pole dancer. Go back and search Depreps....sorry you are late to the party but no one else cares and the ones who did care are over it. Find a new axe to grind this one is worn the truck out

oh but you doo like it! I can tell

It doesn't take a high IQ to draw the conclusion that Sills' interest and commitment was only for as long as his son was involved. Did it actually help a few other kids? Sure but ultimately, Sills would have been better of sending his son to a Silk Panty School. If you have the talent they will find you.....Tatnall's Jim Krapf went to Alabama and was an All American. There was also a kid named Hukill? who played big time college FB.

Jim Krapf

Jim entered the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame as Delaware's sixth home grown All-American. A center at the University of Alabama, Krapf was picked on the 'Kodak' 1972 All-America football team. Alabama was unbeaten in 1972. Jim was voted 1971 "Delaware Athlete of the Year". He was Associated Press (AP) All-Southeastern Conference for two years. Jim played in the Orange, Cotton, Bluebonnet and Senior Bowl games, plus the Coaches All-American game. He was drafted by the NFL Oakland Raiders and later released. He played briefly for British Columbia of the Canadian Football League (CFL). At Tatnall School, he won four national prep wrestling titles with a record of 103-0..

I have said it before and I will say it again. IF you have 15K a year to send your kid to a private school, with the goal of getting a football scholarship, save your money!! Tuition at UD is less than that for each of the four years at the school. Believe me, if you are that good you can walk on at UD. Meanwhile, you can enjoy your high school years, still be a kid and just be you. There have been plenty of kids that went to public's in Delaware that got full rides to college as well, none of them were missed. SAVE UR MONEY.

Amen bra.

Sills the player has done pretty well for himself. I realize he didn't make it as QB at USC but that whole thing was Lane Kiffin and a publicity stunt at the expense of a kid. I believe he is back playing DI football at West Virginia and 2 seasons ago he caught the game winning TD pass in a bowl game. That's more than most of us can say.

People upstate don't send their kids to private schools for sports scholarships. They send their kids to private school because the public school system upstate is awful.

The only private school in delaware close to worth the price of admission is Tower Hill. The rest of them are worth somewhere between cat piss and dog piss. Tatnall is close to dog piss (good end), Sallies/St Marks would be very smelly cat piss.

This guy had devoted his whole working life to his job in a pickle factory.

Then one day he got home from work and told his wife he'd been fired from his job.

She was very upset at this and angry at the company he'd worked for, shouting, "You've given that firm twenty years of devoted service. Why the hell did they fire you?"

The guy explained, "For the whole twenty years I worked there I've been tempted to stick my John Thomas in the pickle slicer and today I finally did it!"

The wife screamed in horror and ran over to her husband. Then she pulled his pants down to see what damage had been done.

She let out a big sigh of relief. "You look okay" she said, "So what happened to the pickle slicer?"

The guy said, "They fired her, too."
