Nothing wrong with a Saturday 1 pm game. Saturday morning games suck. Can't play all the games on Friday night it cuts down on attendance.

You cant play all the games on Fri nights because some of the teams that earned home field advantage don't have lights...

Im just sour that Lake finishes 8-2 overall and more importantly 6-0 in confrence play and has to travel weel 1. Bottom line is the system is broke.

I like the point system of seeding the tournament. No individual prejudices. It is all by the numbers.

The Henlopen South champ gets in automatically but is seeded by the point system. Would you give a conference/division champ an automatic first round home game? I am not being critical. I am interested in how you would resolve your issue.

And that's pathetic

Pathetic how?. Some of these schools are in old neighborhoods who wont allow the schools to get lights... Is what it is.. you really need to lighten up and take things as they are.. its not that serious its just HS football

Yes I do believe if you win your confrence you should be playing atleast 1 home game. Stop rewarding teams for playing 9 games and a handful of them out of state. And while im at it why should ( just using thismas an example ) woodbride get bonus points for beating a terrible polytech team. There should be some kind of committee made up of north/south and non confrence members imo.

There are only two conferences that get auto ins. I agree the whole conference thing and point system is archaic as it was intended to reward the two conferences..Times have changed the system hasn't.. but none the less your issue isnt with teams that have to host home games on Sat but the system itself..

I dont like the fact that the game is on sat afternoon but that is what it is. Yes my bigger problem is with the system.

point systems are pretty much standard across the country in HS play-off seedings,, The conference you play in really has no bearing other than auto bids

I like Lake traveling upstate so I can go see the game. Just joking .

Winning your conference should get you a home game.

Point system is ok but they need some sort of strength of schedule index . Playing only 9 games is pathetic and should be penalized.

I don't want to hear that. If that's the case then play each other twice . Play 10 games like everyone else . Lots of teams would have loved a week off to get healthy and rest .

Friends and Tower Hill could have gotten a 10th game

How come Tatnall plays the toughest schedule in the Indy conference every year?

slate, if you're gonna post everything twice, you'll wear out your welcome twice as fast!

In case anyone's interested. This is from the press release:

Please note the following:

·Automatic qualifiers were awarded based on regular season results to the following conferences:

1.Henlopen North- Smyrna

2.Henlopen South- Lake Forest

3.Blue Hen Flight A- William Penn

4.Blue Hen Flight B- St. Georges

.

  • There was a tie between Salesianum and William Penn for the Division I top seed. Salesianum was awarded the #1 seed based on a regular season head to head victory over Wm. Penn.
  • There was a tie between Hodgson and Milford for the #8 seed in Division 2. Hodgson was awarded the #2 seed based on the 2nd tiebreaker, most opponent’s victories (44 vs 40). There was no head to head play between the two.
  • Wilmington Friends is playing their first round “home” game at Tower Hill.
  • The News Journal will host a Championship Luncheon at their New Castle Offices on Monday, November 30th at noon.
·DIAA and Special Olympics Delaware will co-host two Unified Flag Football games on Saturday, December 5th between the D1 and D2 championship games.

FanOfFootball Looks like those 9 games prepared Friends well enough to thump Lake Forest today 34-14. So much for the Henlopen South Champs....and Friends is overrated???
Hey slate6553...Lake earned Henlopen South Champs! Keep in mind kids do check in on this forum from time to time. Btw, were you one of the officials that generously helped Friends out today, or are you just a fan or parent?

No off
I don't think an official can score 20 pts for a team.
fanoffootball123 started this off by calling crap on my post. I'm just calling him out on it
No officials can't score 20 points. They can help it along! Congrats to Friends!

I'm honored that you thought of me after the victory. Thank You.

FYI . I never said they were overrated. I said they should play a more challenging 10 game schedule. On my prediction post I even called Friends a very well coached team that had the ability to beat Lake. Get your facts straight and schedule 10 games next year.

Playing a 9 game schedule is pathetic

I completely stand by that comment. Play 10 like everyone else. That comment would be directed at those that are involved in scheduling. Not the kids.

I never called the Quakers pathetic and you can overanalyze my comments and twist them any way that you want and I could really care less at this point .

If your point is to come on here and crow about the win then you need to get a life and grow up.

Good luck next week.

Sounds like sour grapes after a long ride home
No sour grapes here...that nice 4th and goal stop, fumble recovery, and many stops on D was my son #51. This is his 3rd year starting on D. He's already moved on from the loss and concentrating on playing at the next level. As I said before congrats to Friends!
