Former Laurel High standout passed away recently at his home in Seaford. Waller was also a two time All American at the University of Maryland. In the NFL Waller played for the Los Angeles Rams where his career was shortened by injuries. Waller also Coached in The WFL and the NFL and was an NFL scout. In his senior Senior season at Laurel Waller scored 213 points in just 8 games. He scored 5 touchdowns in three different games against Georgetown, Milford and, Seaford. He scored 4 Touchdowns against both Delmar and Cambridge. Only one other player in the entire nation had more points that year than Waller. In his High School career of just 22 games he scored 464 points. Waller was named to the All State teams in both 1949 and 1950 and was the State Player of the Year in 1950.Waller was elected to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame in 1977 and to the National High School Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
