Safety Kedrick Whitehead: 14 tackles vs. Penn

and if Reeder wasn't hurt he would be contributing also.. not saying they shouldn't go south for some speed and may need some more corn fed beef on the lines but 302 representing well

Everything in response is right on target.

In a team performance sense, does having a safety making all those tackles tell us that the linemen and linebackers need to step it up. 14 tackles by a safety! Wow.

A few game schematics could've occured in order for a safety to have 14 tackles. Safety blitzes, multiple coverage schemes, packages when he dropped down to play linebacker are just a few. However, Penn may have thought that Whitehead could've been exploited and he was reading everything that Penn schemed correctly.

That is true. For much of the Penn game the “O” line and the “D” line were both being handled by the Penn lines. Both UD lines need to improve.

Here we go again!!! The thread was obviously created to show love to a hometown kid, at a hometown school, that’s performing at a high level on the field! Why is it necessary to take the shine off of the kid that’s playing great, by insinuating that other parts of the team must some how be underperforming? Just sad!

diehard, that might be a little bit of an overreaction. I posted this in praise and people agreed. Then when I asked a FB question, 2 people gave their thoughts. I might be wrong but I don't the responses have been too negative.

In other news...the CAA Defensive Player of the Week is from Albany State.
He only made 9 tackles.

I think Whitehead should have been the CAA Def. Player of the Week because if he misses a couple of tackles the Hens lose....
