SMH. Calm keyboard coaches. This man is coming off of back to back state championships and he is coaching basically a brand new team of very young players. They are growing and if they stay as presently constructed they will be very good. Right now he is simply searching for how he is going to get his points and ALL of the boys are getting a chance to prove that. Give them time........Sheesh
Based on a couple of these comments, I would then extrapolate that all of the great competition that the Slowskys beat last year in the tournament were poorly coached. After all, Poly, Mt Pleasant, Appo and St. George's had superior records during the regular season and the Slowskys started 2 freshmen on a .500 team. I think it was a consensus of this forum that Haley out coached a few people once the tournament began.
Look. I am fish out of water on this one. You guys know more about basketball.
Sallies is a lot better than people think and has not lost a game they couldn't easily win this season. There biggest problem is the coach trying to please everyone. Subing up to 3 kids at a time with no consistent flow, destroying momentum, and recking confidence. Its almost like the boys and girls club league where everyone is guaranteed 2 quarters regardless of talent. They have a solid cast of young talent. A solid young point in Ali but the coach tries his best to keep that kempski kid in the game who's not a point. The big kid is the only consistent kid on the floor, it just looks like a mess. Also the coach refuses to go to zone when zone is needed. If u look at the body language of many of their kids u can see the frustration with this mass confusion they got going on. This is why many coaches only select 10-11 kids to suit up for varsity. At this point in the year that coach has to decide do u want to win by making strategic basketball decisions or lose trying to please everyone. One thing I know is certain, yanking multiple kids every 2-3 min is the worse bball strategy.
