What is the reason for the change? To play at UD is special for HS teams.
10,000?? What tournament picture? Why would Sals fans care if ST Marks was in the hunt for the D2 tournament and visa versa...
I guess I could see a scenario where if Sals was on the brink of getting in they could drop the L on them to a D2 team and kill their season...
Personally I dont think Sals or St M will be in jeopardy of not making the tournament regardless of the outcome of the game..
Just a quick question when was the last time Sals has not made the tournament? and How many time has that happened in the last 20 years? Just for curiosity sakes..
I believe the date would be Thursday November 12th. I might go to watch it instead of the NFL Thursday night offering Bills vs. Jets
Jawnsky. A comment was made that the game at UD would cause exposure and possibly help with bringing the numbers up are far as enrollment. Maybe some, but not enough. School Improvements, appearance along with educational tools to the non-sport playing population would help more. reaching out to that type of student. that's all i meant.
If my memory serves me correct, didn't the Red Lion school district host a Saturday event with 3 games at UD one or two years ago???? Wasn't the cost severely expensive (one reason why it was a one and done,
Perhaps?).....my take would be the extra bleachers and extra man/woman power to run it....(which I thought was volunteer boosters) would be a hell of a lot cheaper than having to pay UD their cost for a one night event?
There you go again....Actually, I think the Gents will have a banner year and will be playing well into November. A number of key players return on the offense. The defense is a concern. Last year was the softest defense I had seen in recent years. I don't know if its concern on concussions or coaching (I doubt) but with players like Reeder, Whittelsey and Cathers back, I think they will get the job done.
Jawnsky .. I just dont see it this year,,, too many teams are learning to make use of their speed and won't play ground and pound with the Sals anymore.. Sals make the tourney but doubt they make a title run.. final 4 yeah.. Chip no... JMHO
per "Resources" what do you mean.. resources to go out and get some play-makers or resources to influence calls?.. just trying to understand how resources matter.
true.. D1 seems pretty wide open at this point.. we will know more when some of the scrims start... pads start popping today, correct?
Today is the day for hitting!! And you are correct on it being early and we will learn a lot more in a few weeks with scrimmages.
Week 1 has some very interesting matchups for a good start and an early look.....
Bucs v Concord
SM v NWK
CR v MT
WP v STG
Sals v Ohara
RR I have agree with you , not over impressed with the Sals line averaging 6'-2" and 260 lbs. , are they quick, are the strong ? Plus the speed of the backfield is questionable. Last years Penn line was big/ strong and quick with speed in the backfield, their success was because the line dominated the line of scrimmage and RB speed . If I recall last years Middletown line averaged 5'- 10" and 200 lbs., they were quick and strong. MDP adapted his offense to the strength of his line ran a (veer). Not sure what O to run when slow line and slow backs, receivers?Jawnsky .. Wow! Mobhits makes Bummy look like an optimist!! Having said that it is concisely my point. This year the Sals will face bigger, stronger, faster, quicker and more athletic opponents almost every week.
I have heard the talk that this will be .500 team for the Slowskys. So be it.
