Sanford Davis to sign with Providence

very dissapointing considering he was ranked top 50 at one point... hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard...

WoW..... High major commitment and not many athletes go high major let alone D1. Congratulations young man for committing to furthering your education (for free) and I think this is a great fit!! Hard work definitely paid off....47k a year x 4. One hell of a payoff!!

Big road win for the Friars against a very good Marquette team tonight too (although they did mess one of tickets up...smh). Congrats to the young man though.

Yes very good for him, congrats! But must say it’s only the first step. From what I’ve seen I’m very concerned if he will make it at that school. Could see him coming back to play at DE.
I’m assuming you mean because of the pace of the game there & throughout the Big East as well as how athletic those guys are?

If he can manage to stay healthy I believe he will be fine wherever he goes. After coming off a couple of major injuries, it’s hard not to play a little conservative. The mental game after injuries is probably holding him back a bit

I think Davis will be fine at Providence. Haven't heard anything but positives from the Providence coaching staff and players about the signing. Kid has the factor, as people have mentioned and even Watermann did too that Davis has been more conservative in his play since the injuries. But I think finishing out this season and being able to forgo the AAU Summer and get up to campus and work out and develop his body more will be huge for him.
Delaware has been doing well lately getting players at the next level and playing well

What injuries did he have? Would explain why he looked like he lost a step and was slower and out of shape when I saw him. I agree he needs to drop AAU and get away from game a little to bring back some hunger and get ready for college. He needs to spend more time in weight room.

Tendinitis in his knee, probably from playing basketball all year round just took a toll on his body

Didn't see his name in box score in their latest game vs St Andrews. Is he hurt?

From the score it doesn’t look like they needed him. Maybe they’re trying to keep him healthy now that he’s committed.
He fine .. They won by 30 plus.. No need to stuff stats like LeBron James.. Another state title is all he should be thinking about .. Tower Hill look like J.V team..lol
