Easy over matched.. Montverde is number 1 ranked highschool team in country... No brainer what was going happen.. Just can't believe how bad Davis has regress.. He is out there on court going threw the motions. I honestly thought that he be one of the best ever to come out of DE.. Not even close... He has no passion for the game .. Way too layed back.. D-1 will eat him alive.. Sad but true.. Can't blame Stan either.. He put Davis in every position to get better and get great coaching at USA team.. Smh
Davis has got to get more aggressive & show that he is actually hungry. He’s very laid back & that won’t cut it if he plans on playing in one of the Power 5 conferences. It will be interesting to see how he closes out his senior year but there are a number of kids catching up to him right here in DE which will make All state interesting considering that he has been 1st Team the last 3 years I believe. It was good to see Njoku do well against top competition. I like Corey Perkins a lot as a true point guard but would have liked to see him get up more shots...2-3 from the field & 2-2 from 3 while also leading the team in rebounds w/ 6. Great learning experience for Sanford & big ups to Stan for making it happen scheduling-wise.
Good luck to Sanford this morning at 9:15AM against Riverview (FL) & hopefully they can return home with a win out of there 3 games.
Sanford beat Sarasota Riverview this morning in OT 87-84. Davis had 29, Njoku didn't play. Hassan Perkins had 24, Corey Perkins had 21...

Sanford beat Fort Myers 52-38 this morning to move to a 2-1 record in Florida.
Corey Perkins had 17, Njoku had 14, Davis scores 13.

Sanford up by 11 on a team from Missouri that’s already beaten the #10 and #17 teams in the country. Monteverde is beating almost everyone by 40 so that loss may be misleading. If Sanford closes this out, winning the consolation bracket is a great achievement for Delaware.

Vashon was ranked #29 in the nation themselves as of last Tuesday. Montverde is just different so no shame in that loss.
I was somewhat critical of Sanford after they started the season with a loss. But to go 3-1 in this tournament is a huge accomplishment. Congrats to Stan and his young men.
First, I'm here in Florida now & witnessed everything... Sanford lost to Mountverde by 36 pts. Mountverde also beat Sharife Cooper MAXPREP last season Player of the Year team McEachern by 51pts the next game. And Mountverde just beat IMG by 8pts in the Chip game which was the closest game this year for them.. Previous games this season Mountverde won by 20pts 24pts, 36pts(Sanford), & all the other games by 40 plus this season.. Mountverde has 8 players ranked in the top 100 on their team. Just to add, their back up guard that comes off the bench is going to Michigan.. smh

Coach Stan Waterman received Coach of the whole "City Of Palms" tournament Honors. Follow by Corey Perkins (Cperk) receiving "All Tournament Team" along w/ Cade Cunningham Mountverde, Scottie Barnes Mountverde, J Springer IMG, Day'Ron Sharpe Mountverde & Sharife Cooper McEachern!! No team in Delaware EVER got invited to the "City Of Palms".. And no team from Delaware EVER played the #1 team in the Country.. They Represented The 1st State WELL! Hats off!!

Yes, I’m aware. I attended the game. They lost to a good team. However, I still believe they were the better team, just was an off night for all involved. I’m happy for their recent success and will check them out this weekend at the Beach.
Sanford Definitely let that first game of the season slip away! That was the worse Sanford played since I've seen them.. Shooting, free throws, etc.. For the pass 3 starts of each season for some reason they don't play well... Lost to Cape at Home 2017 opener, Saint George's went into overtime. They were down 11 or 12 pts with less than 2 minutes to go but pulled it thru 2018. And this season opener they didn't play well also.. They'll be fine heading into the playoffs this season...
Definitely. I’m hoping they don’t have a letdown this weekend after a successful Florida trip.
