After watching Wood dismantle Roselle Catholic I would be surprised if Sanford loses by less than 20. Wood has way too many weapons. Their guard play is phenomenal with #1 Collin Gillespie having one of the best handles I have ever seen in the high school game.

In looking at the box score I noted that Wood shot 13-21 from 3 pt range. That is 61%! Incredible but also tough to replicate. Interesting that you say Gillispie has a great handle because he had 8 turnovers. I did not see the game but from the box score it came down to 3 pt shooting (RC shot 5-22) and rebounding as AW outrebounded RC by 12. That tells me either RC is a poor shooting team or more likely, AW gets after it defensively and on the glass.
I do agree that AW rolls a lot of guys out there and they all contribute. Sanford will really need to play with a lot of intensity, limit turnovers and slow the game down if they hope to stay close.

Game was not nearly as close as the box score. AW up by 18 after 3. Your right Gillespie had 8 turnovers mostly trying to force stuff. They certainly did not count his assists correctly. RC face guarded this kid all second half. Pushed shoved grab held you name it. Tried to guard him with several different players. Tried to get in his face. Even followed him around during foul shots to try and aggravate him. Double and triple teamed him. He just dribbled through them. No one stole the ball off his dribble. AW has 4-5 kids that can light it up from 3. They opened up the 3 by driving and dishing. Way too many weapons for Sanford. AW vs RC game was the highlight of day 1 by a mile. Gillespie and #11 Andrew Funk were the most fun to watch all day!
Sanford will be ok ... Wood is ok... Not great...They was hot from 3 piont line... One thing Stan will do is not allık wide open 3s.... Wood has no one to guard Davis.. Be close game... Sanford played teams 10 times better than Wood. İn tourney they just played.
Which teams? 5-7 Palotti or 5-4 Episcopal? Only Blue Ridge is ranked higher than Wood. Just watched them beat up preseason #13 in the country.
That was preseason #13.. We will see at 6 then.. I watched Wood play yesterday too.. Solid team but nowhere near great..

If anyone is thinking about going. The crowds, atmosphere, venue and games were great. Lots of basketball junkies in the stands. Very well run event. Sitting on plastic bleachers for 10 hours not so much. Bring a stadium seat or pad if you have one.

I wouldn't say Stan doesn't have guards...what I would say is that his guards are young but not the caliber of young guards that Stan has had.
While I agree but its not that much of a risk for Sanford.. All they have to do is win the Silk Panty League and be above .500 and they are guaranteed a play-off berth

AW did not start Gillespie. He went 18 points 9 rebounds 6 assists in 13 minutes based on the box score.

How about the Cooney, Jones, Hart Sanford team that beat RLCA? 2012/13 Howard team with Woody, Ponzo-Meek? Would any team this year compete with last years Sanford team?

1 Proves how good Archbishop Wood is this year
2 Sanford top 5 team in the state with a chance to win championship again
3 Davis might be the best player in the state
