Sanford vs Cape Live

The game was very one sided. Every Sanford player got into the game by the first couple minutes of the 2nd Q. Sanford towered over Cape. Started 4 players 6’6” or taller. I would bet they had over 10 blocked shots. Cape did well to stay close for a few minutes in the first Q. First time I have ever seen a running clock in basketball.

I know Sanford usually starts the 2 shorter Perkins kids in the backcourt but I didn't see Hassan Perkins name in the box score so I'm assuming Harris probably started since he is about 6'7. If so, this lineup should run through DE teams as well as some of the better teams outside of DE. Any word on why H. Perkins may have been out for this game (hopefully not a significant injury)?

Hassan Perkins was on the bench in sweats. Harris should start. Kid can play. Sanford is going to be tough for the next 3 years. Sophomore class looks pretty strong. Only 1 senior on this years team. They stuck with top 10 team Imhotep Charter for 3 Qs before losing by 17. Imhotep beat Oak Hill by 10 and came in second at the City Of Palms holiday tournament.

We’ve been saying they will be tough for next 3 yrs for the last 5-6 yrs...

Oh yes. The curse of potential.

Who thought the Sals would win the state Bball title in 2015?
Who picked Central to win the FB title in 2018?
...and the grand daddy of them all who picked St. Lizzies to win the Bball title last year?

One more time for the West Coast:

Sanford won by 15. They were at full strength. All around good effort against a big Bishop Walsh team.

Bishop Walsh has an interesting talent group for a school located in Cumberland, MD. Unless I am mistaken there are a couple of foreign players.

Sanford does look very, very good.

Yes, quite a few foreign players including one who is a Virginia Tech commit. Sanford went out to a solid lead in Q1 and the closest Walsh got was 7.

Watched Sallies v Roselle and although they got blown out, the Sals were better than I expected. They will compete well this year.

Hassan Perkins didn't play vs Cape.. He wasn't even on the bench.. He was home sick, resting (24 hour bug).. But played today against Bishop...

And played like he was never sick. Hassan was on fire early.
