...saw the game...not that I know anything about football. I had the downstate Spartans putting the running clock on the jackets. I was wrong again. Newark scored a TD with about a minute and a half left in the first half. Lake takes the ensuing kickoff down to the 25 of Newark and scores and converts with 1.2 seconds left in the first half. 7-6 Lake at the half.

Newark receives the kickoff in the second half and has to punt. Their kicker lines up on the 2 and the kick and a defender got there at the same time. The defender either took it off the punters foot or blocked it but the ball didn't hit the ground. If it is a punt he had a 2 yard punt return for the TD. Lake up 14-6. They scored once more and then Newark closed out the scoring. Lake 21, Jackets 12 final.

#68 for Newark left the game in the 2nd half. He is a nice lineman. Looked like an arm injury. Another strange thing. In the first half a Newark back got hurt and then kicks a Lake player. The Newark player was ejected in what was a game that was otherwise model of sportsmanship.

Newark was a lot better than I thought and their band is really good.

I am OK with the 1030 start. In Phila North Catholic and Frankford used to play their Thanksgiving game at 900AM. That was a crazy tradition.
