Might as well get a scoreboard thread going for tonight. Woodbridge and Glasgow set to tip off in a few.
Woodbridge wins 60-56.
Cornell Corbin head & shoulders above everyone on the floor on both ends. It looked like Glasgow was gonna tie it he came out of nowhere w/ game-saving block. He is a First Team All-State caliber player but probably won't get the votes because voters don't see him as much.
At halftime I heard a media guy say that he came to see him tonight because the rule is that you are supposed to have seen the kid play to vote for him & that he would now have him on his ballot. But my thing is how many voters actually take the time to see ALL of the kids? What if this kid would have had an off night tonight then do you not vote for him because the one time you saw him he had a bad game?
That block was the play of the game. But, I have to tell you, with all due respect, as a non-biased fan with no ties to either one of those team, I didn't leave that game thinking anyone on that floor was head & shoulders above anyone. I left thinking, if those teams played 10 times, they would probably split 5-5.Woodbridge wins 60-56.

Fair question. I think it's harder nowadays for media to see everybody because you've got a lot of outlets that have maybe one full time sports person and a bunch of part-timers/freelancers. Add to the fact there are more high schools now than back in the day when it was only about 25-30 and probably 10-15 had all-state caliber players.
Good point.Woodbridge wins 60-56.

OK, maybe we do need a shot clock...ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZSt. Mark's led Delcastle 22-3 at the half
Thanks for the assessment. Sounds like you making a great point with facts.I am always non-biased as well but the truth is that some kids often get more hype than deserved while others who don't get seen as much don't the recognition. If those teams played 10 times then I wouldn't argue that it could go 5-5 or 6-4...but you are telling me after watching that game that Cornell Corbin was not clearly the best player on the floor? I would think he had to have a game-high in points, rebounds (Glasgow's #15 was on the boards as well) & blocks (he's 6'2 @ the most & played big while Woodbrideg's tallest guy was out hurt tonight on the bench in a cast). And down the stretch he had the game-winning steal, assist & block at the other end all w/ under a minute left. Name one other player in that game that played anywhere near as good tonight or better. I'm not saying he is a 1st Team All-Stater but that performance tonight was that good. I would have him on my 2nd Team All-State.
Also, I like Earl & he seems like a true point guard looking to set up teammates & not too much of a scorer. His on-ball defense was impressive. He had trouble finishing in traffic early cuz of his size & he didn't make a jump shot all night but he held his team together giving them a shot to win.

They will be seeded 5. Just did pionts systemCorbin is clearly overlooked because he doesn't get the exposure that NCC players get. Seen him twice now and impressed both times. In addition with loss of point guard he was handling the ball a lot more often to compensate. He also had 5-7 rebounds I'd say.
