This is according to a Tweet from Jon Buzby of the Newark Post. Always liked Coach Riley and how he was true to Glasgow athletics. He says it's not a permanent good bye, but a break. Hopefully he has a change of heart like Coach Maull did at St. G. Either way, interesting news for a team that still has a lot of talent for this coming season.

I know he just had a little girl and has a young son. Coaching takes up alot of time. Cherish the precious time with your family coach! Football will always be around.

Definitely fake news. Talked to a player and a coach. Said he started a player development business a while ago and has hinted to depart in the past months to focus on it. The player told me coach was just in the building saying hello to players, staff and admin during lunch while on paternity leave. This is a clear attack that is unwarranted. Unless "the streets" are human resources or the school administration I am not listening. And making up a profile and posting something like this, the streets call bitchassness. If he or anyone else leaves any job for whatever they chose to leave for I wish them the best. Smh

Just doesn't make sense to me to resign from your main job as well. Lots of rumors out there. He did not just stepped down from coaching. I heard he has 2 or 3 kids. I wonder how he will support his family. Again, if the rumors are true, it is a great thing for this program that this coach stepped down. If the rumors are wrong, shame on the "streets".
I got in contact with 2 main sources, the coach and an administrator to put to rest this foolishness. The administrator said coach's input is welcome for next coach search. They have reached out to the coach numerous times for feedback about potential replacements. The coach said he has his own business that he started and will begin his new post in May. The reason for resigning. He said he knows who is behind these fictitious posts. He has texts messages from this person that have been sent to multiple people with slanderous tones. He said he will share if need be. If I was him I would have rivals look up IP registrations for like information and get ready for a slander suit. But hey that's just me.
So I guess it's safe to say that the "streets" were wrong yet again. If I'm coach and I know who this clown is I'm not wasting my time with him. Guy is a joke who comes on here and bashes another man for no reason. Sad world we live in nowadays.
Glasgow is not relevant.. last year or any year.. same old same old a few good athletes and that's it. Coaching is and never was a Glasgow strong point

I AGREE THAT THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD'VE BEAT CARAVEL!!!! They were the better team at every skill position.

I think what RR meant to say when he said Glasgow is irrelevant is that all D2 football in delaware is irrelevant. And I agree with him on that. Smyrna's 11th best player would be King in the North at Caravel
No Smyrna's 11th best player WOULDN'T BE! What makes a team D1 and D2 isn't based on talent...it's based on the school's enrollment numbers....has nothing to do with talent. D1 teams have more depth because they have more students.
I am not a fan of either but was at the playoff game. Caravel won the game at the line if scrimmage. There line and linebackers were more physical and played with emotion. Glasgow got behind and unraveled. They were battle tested against better competition and it definitely helped them in that game.
I saw some other posts that some issues wth the coach being the reason the good QB left and went to Smyrna.
Dont know if true or not - though I have my doubts think the kid transfered to get his ring with Nolan graduating. Not blasting the kid hope he gets his ring and a scholly but dont think it had any thing to do with the coach. I know several people that know the coach well and they all say the rumors are crap.

A while back, the father of the QB you're referring to came here to explain the transfer. The family moved to Smyrna. Simple as that.
Hey that Smyrna job market is thriving..folks are moving in in droves.. Lake Como front living is on fire..
