Spring Football Practice

I believe 7x7 flag comes before end of summer practice, not sure there is a spring practice session.

All the DE schools have a window to practice for 4 or 5 days (in helmets and shoulder pads) before school ends.

All schools are Atleast 2days in. I seen on Middletown is doing a Blue/White classic or something on Friday night

Yeah Middletown has been doing it last Wednesday, Friday, this Monday and Wednesday and Friday is their Blue White game or classic as another poster said.

I didn’t realize DIAA voted to allow spring practice. That’s awesome and a huge step forward. Great for the kids as this is a live period where college coaches can come and observe. I wonder how many programs are taking advantage of it? I bet less than 50%. Unfortunately.

DIAA did not approve spring practices. This is part of the Heads Up safety clinic that DIFCA coaches have been pushing the last few years. Just about every school in the state is participating. Schools with qualified safety coach are allowed up to 5 days of practice with focus on tackling and blocking where they can wear helmets and shoulder pads but there is not suppose to be any 11 on 11 football activities.

11 on 11 is pushing the limits of camp intentions. This does give coaches a chance to work with kids on football schools as a team for a few days prior to summer. Hopefully this will eventually help with DIAA getting their head out the mud and recognize they are doing more harm than good by not allowing coaches do some sort of coaching out of season.

"Head out the mud" is being nice. smh

G. Request to Hold Heads Up Training Camps Out of Season The Delaware Interscholastic Football Coaches Association (DIFCA) submitted a proposal for the Safety First Football Camp. According to the proposal, the purpose of the camp, which is supported by USA Football, is to educate football coaches on equipment fitting, concussion recognition and awareness, heat and hydration awareness, sudden cardiac arrest, and Heads Up blocking and tackling.

The coaches’ training would be reinforced with players throughout the camp and monitored by coaches trained in USA Football’s online and live training courses. Coaches would also follow the 5-Day Acclimatization guidelines recommended by the Korey Stringer Institute, USA Football, and NFHS. Mr. Neubauer explained that there was a change in regulation that requires all football coaches (including certified, emergency, and volunteer coaches) at all levels of competition to annual complete Heads Up Football training but the Board has not stipulated that the camp for the players is approved. Mr. Neubauer asked if DIFCA needs to come before the board each year.

Dr. Fitzgerald made a motion to approve the DIFCA’s proposal for the SY 2019-2020 and to not require DIFCA to submit the same proposal in the future unless the proposal or the regulation changes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Laws and carried by a vote of 14 yes (Donovan, Andrus, Edney, Laws, Harris, Cimaglia, Layfield, Cilento, Hart, Fitzgerald, Breeding, Little, Bley, and Jeanne) and 0 no.

That makes sense, I didn’t think they had a spring football practice session in the 302

Two hand touch in today’s world, but Under armour started this league with originally being flag.

No, but nice way to help hide the high school. According to the link league season rule 1, This program typically starts two Mondays before the DFRC Blue-Gold All Star Football Game.
Good try, try again with another excuse. June 10 is the start date you copied and pasted.

There SHOULD be a Spring practice regime, if you desire for you team to perform at a high level in the Fall! We had a ten day Spring practice schedule, included with a two hundred mile trek to Troy University, to do battle with the squad from Meridian, Miss.! It was part of an eighteen team Spring get together, involving schools from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tenn.!
