St. Andrews' Ben Bentil has been having a great sophomore season for #16 Providence leading the team in scoring (19 ppg) & rebounding (8 rpg) while also leading the entire Big East conference in scoring. You may not hear much about Providence & when you do it's usually their POY candidate Kris Dunn but Bentil is "quietly" putting in work big time work. At 6'9 230 lbs & being able to play the wing I would have to think he is an NBA prospect...if he keeps working hard I think he'll have a shot.

He had a great game today on national TV in an upset win vs #4 Villanova finishing w/ 31 pts & 13 rbs including some big buckets, free throws & rebounds down the stretch. After the game the announcers spoke on NBA execs being high on him & him possibly being a draft pick this year. For anyone that likes to keep up w/ our local high school players @ the next level your may wanna check him out.

I've seen a couple of Providence games. What's crazy is that he's scoring all these points but they don't really go to him on offense. At least not in the games I've seen. I don't think I've seen but a couple times where they've dumped it to him in the paint. Most of the points are off rebounds or on free throws.

He's come a long way since St Andrews that's for sure.

Was a Gd game.

I agree, great to see local kids thriving at the next level! Way to go St. Andrews!!! There is little doubt that he can and will play in the league. His size and athletisms will make him an excellent wing. He also has a great shot beyond the arch.

Ben is having an awesome year, but let's not forget he was 2x 1st team all state....

Coach Meyers allowed him to play point guard his senior year after Austin transferred, strategically preparing him for his transition to the wing....

Coach Meyers talents have not gone unrecognized, I listed him as # 5 for top coaches in the state. When I revise the list at the end of season he moves to # 3 behind Christensen @ William penn another good young Coach is the Glasgow coach. I plan to list who in my opinion are the coaches I think serve in the best interest of kids and will take Delaware basketball forward. Just working my way through each program doing more research.
