St E's vs St Mark's

UD assistant coach was there tonight to see Jordan Money (I assume). Unfortunately, Money appeared to "take the night off." He did not play well - no buckets, only 4 points, several turnovers as a result of over-dribbling and trying to get too cute with the ball. Didn't appear to be mentally in the game. #42 for St. E played very well. Money is a very good player - one of the top 5 in the state - but didn't show it tonight.

Agreed! Money had trouble especially with Ludman of St Marks playing very good D on him. That can't be discounted. From the jump he had the cuffs on Money on and off the ball early. Tough D and it seems that Money took the game or the D lightly. St E mixed both zone, fc press, and man. St Marks stuck with man. Bottom line is both squads are not very deep. St E has the size advantage. Not saying much. SMHS seemed to be ready for Money at the cost of leaving Hazelton open for dump passes and lay ups in the half court. StE moved the ball well and found Hazelton open and he made the layups when the opportunity was there. Both teams pushed the ball and battled on both ends. St Marks is playing O unlike the past. Big change in approach. Big surprise despite the score. They had open looks late but we're not as aggressive. Both squads shooting was not on. Hazelton was the deciding factor and the Vikings took advantage of that with court vision and patience.
