Delaware is a lot higher than you would think at #10.

That and due to perception and laziness by the coaches they tend to go to areas where there is a lot of talent concentrated in one area. Hence the Maryland numbers which is really just a few schools mostly.. SFA, MIAA and WCAC.. not that the public kids in Maryland don't get recruited they do but at the same clip as everywhere else.. but the big numbers and power 5 offers are from the ones I mentioned

Another statistic I'd like to see us the number of power 5 recruits that leave and go to a lower status conference eventually. That number is staggering.

That is true..8484ron.. Overrated by the tee shirt and shorts crowd.. They get there and realize they don't belong at that level.. No big deal go where you can play and get a degree without all the nonsense that surrounds those big time programs. Most the time transferring down is a blessing in disguise for those kids. IMHO

Sometimes reality has to hit you in the face for you to believe it. When your told all your life how special you are and that your a 4 star in the 5th grade then that happens .. just saying

Floirda, Goergia, etc are pumping out incredible amounts of recruits - pretty much all the skill players on Bama, Clemson, etc - If UF, FSU and Miami could get them to stay home like th e80/90's they would be machines again.

Not to change the subject but this is REALLY true in lacrosse. Kids in MD, LI, New England, PA and NJ from about 100-150 High Schools acount for like 90% of call D1 lacrosse committments.

Some MIAA teams kids that don't even start have D1 offers.. but Lax is different clubs rule the day in that sport and the MIAA teams are stacked with kids that all start on power club teams.

You are talking about kids who mostly are not interested in a degree or even the University so much as to where the hot ticket to NFL and fame is. That carrot moves eventually.. When Saban goes someone else will have the hot ticket somewhere else lol..I am sure in our lifetime we will see a resurgence in California or Florida for these 2 and done kids..

That 7.1% stat can be misleading if your looking at it as a kids chances of playing college football. It doesn't factor the amount of kids who played high school football who don't want to play in football college or want to play a different sport and that is a pretty big number. That percentage would go up quite a bit if it only included kids who desired to play football in college. Most kids who are good high school players can play in NCAA at some level if its something they want to do.

Another interesting point to these numbers regarding Delaware. The time frame they are counting D1 recruits 2015-2018.. There were quite a few 302 D1 offered kids playing in MD and PA (ECA, SFA, SJC, SJP, Neumann Gorretti etc.) that counted for those states.

Thanks BIB. Max Preps, Rivals 24-7 and the ESPN sites always just seem to report the Blue Chips, but not much else.

We have a lot of kids who end up going to FCS schools. (Ie: Henderson, Reeder bros., Nichols etc.) which is great becuase alot of them are playing. UD also seems to be taking many more walk-ons from in-state that they never took before....not that these kids are seeing the field...but they would figure into the NCAA stats as recruited D-1 athletes. Delaware has many more kids going the FCS route rather than the FBS route. In some respects, there are some very good football players who I think get overlooked in Delaware because we don't get the saturation of recruiters. I am also not sure how much our HS Coaches (except Coach Judy) promote their kids. BTW, I give Coach Judy huge props because I have recently seen him on Twitter promoting kids from other Delaware High Schools and this is something he does not have to do...Ultimately, he is trying to get more coaches to come here to look at our kids and that helps spread the word!! I think stuff like that frequently gets overlooked!

Can't argue with that! Back in the Raymond and Keeler days, it was much more rare to see PWOs from in-state. Brock and Rocco seem to have been much more open to it.
