I guess you all have read the NJ story (and editorial to boot) of the female football player. What are your opinions on this. Me, I kinda think its cool but another side of me says why. Anytime, I see a boy go out for a girls sport like field hockey (which is actually pretty rough house judging from the Olympics) he is met with ridicule yet this girl gets front page treatment despite the fact that she may never see game action at the varsity level. Newark and MT have had female kickers and until now, it was never a big deal. Football is a guy thing, one of the few areas in sport that testosterone still rules. Why can't the other side just accept it at that and let us have our thing.

I tend to agree with you dove. There was that young lady (2014) who pitched in the Littlle League playoffs for Philadelpha, Pennsylvania and made the Cover of SI..... Mo'ne Davis.......I think she threw a shutout against Tennessee.

I don't think it's a good idea. Football is for men not girls.

Good luck to her though and stay healthy.

Anyone who wants to respond and call me sexist or whatever save your energy. You won't change my viewpoint. I have daughters. They won't be playing football although my youngest daughter would be a hell of a linebacker. Not happening.

If they can play, more power to them. Those that ridicule a boy wanting to play a sport that is not offered to males at their school are just ignorant. I have seen girl wrestlers and lacrosse players down here in the south. I never had a problem with it, nor did any fans, coaches or other players.

@ikey...
you touch a girl in the hall you get expelled...
you touch a girl on the mat you get 6

I believe the move you are talking about should be band. Assault is assault. Having said that, I never witnessed it as an issue. Bodily contact is an accepted risk of the sport the girl chooses to play, IMHO it's not an issue.
