THE NEW BIG S

Spread football is a fad. It's a joke. Physical football beats it all day. Sallies will win.

I can see it now----dovetail, BlueTea, Jawnsky, and Chesdel will all be seeing their cardiologist Friday night.
The spread is not a fad. Bummy plans to attend this special event. Look for Smyrna to make the Sals eat a fifty-burger.

It's bad fundamental football . It's why blocking and tackling suck. Yeah Smyrna runs a good version of it but I've seen a whole bunch of other teams trying to use it and it SUCKS!

Not a fan of the spread O, but it's worked pretty well for Hodgson the past 4+ years... just sayin'. It will be interesting to see how Smyrna makes out this week.

Didn't Middlletown run the spread or a version of it when the ran out the Slowskys 35-0 and 27-0 3 years ago? This QB at Smyrna is the real deal!

Thank you, Jawnsky. I was waiting for things to calm down before I started the City Rankings. Plus I didn't want to draw any attention away from Pope Francis's visit to the Delaware Valley.

Maybe after next weekend's games I will post the rankings. With the advanced mathematics required for my city rankings model formula I may need to consult with Cal Tech's Doctor Sheldon Cooper.

Then again, I may just stand on the corner of 6th and Union and do a survey.

They should start annual game and have a Big S Trophy... The S gets painted either Red or Gold depending on who wins...

I thought they would move the ball Sallies is slow.. Test is if they play a team with spread. The spread is about getting guys in space with speed. I thought Sallies would win but I did think Smyrna would score on them but never thought either team would score what they did..

You got it HS. It would be interesting to see how this Smyrna Offense would do against the 2012 Middletown defense which shut out the Slowskys twice. The other way to look at it is how many points would the 2012 Cavs score against this year's Smyrna team?

Had to take Saturday off from watching football. Saw enough offense Friday night to get me through the weekend. Holy cow!!

Why would you wonder such a thing? Are you limited to the middletown team that beat Sallies? You can just say yes

huh?.. The question was how many points would the 2012 MT team score against this years Smyrna D... I believe the MT 2012 offense is more prolific than this years Sallies... ALLOT was a reasonable response IMO

DiNardo said. “It might be one of the best, if not the best, in high school history in Delaware. They have three Division I, first-team All-State skill kids [quarterback Darius Wade, receiver Chris Godwin and running back Jamar Baynard]. They don’t have a weakness.”
During the regular season, the Cavs averaged 50.4 points per game while winning by an average of 39.3.
