The next level does not care about 1st, 2nd, 3rd Team

So True
I got a 6'5" 245 lbs TE/OT/DL who did not make honorable mention all conference.. He is a sophomore and runs a 4.9.. Has two standing offers - UVA and NC State.. All about measurables.

I don't know if the next level cares about 1st,2nd, or 3rd team but these kids worked for it. Congrats to them! You'd be surprised what coaches from the next level care about..., my son was asked by college coaches last year why he didn't attend wm penn and some wanted to know why he chose the hs he chose. ( I still don't understand what that had to do with anything). As always there is deserving kids who are overlooked or downplayed ( i still can't believe savage from caravel was 3rd team last year). Did the non conference schools even have all conference accolades last year?

No FlyersFan this is the first year for the non conference list

I do agree.. All conference is a great honor and deserving players should not have that taken away from them from petty and small coaches with an agenda. Luckily from what I have heard state of DE will still allow the Smyrna QB get nominated for All State. Hopefully the coaches at all state do the right thing.
But also bottom line - to play at the next level it is all about measurables.. Height, Weight, SPEED!!! And also how dynamic your hilight film is... All conference has NO bearing on your recruiting or lack of it.

@charliecavalier, I agree with you that colleges don't care about 1st team all-conference, but you MOST CERTAINLY have one up on everybody one you make 1st team all-state! Especially when you are taking about Div1AA and Div2 schools. When they don't get to sign those 3,4, and 5 Star players they hop on the web and see who made first team in surrounding states, connecting the kid with a Hudl highlight film and most colleges will take a chance on a kid like that.

@CoachJoe73, the only time I've heard of a kid NOT being 1st Team All-Conference and turning around and making 1st Team All-State is when his team wins the Chip. And who votes for All-State nowadays anyway??? I know the "sportswriters" (that was a joke) used to do it, then the coaches statewide did it.......... Not sure how they do it now.

They do like their 3s and 4s, so let's just take DS since he was mentioned earlier and compare his bio with the Ross brothers, all on MD Terps roster, all DE guys

All State in DE doesn't hold the same measures as All State in Pa, Tx, Cal, Fla no disrespect but All Delaware County in Pa, is as good as all state here in our fine state!

Here's the gist:
After you review the roster bios the most productive was the least recognized.

Coaches at the next level do like 3&4 star recruits like Brandon Ross. He was least recognized in DE (2nd team AS) as compared to his brother Jarret Ross (2x AS, 3x 1st team AConf) and (DS) Darnell Savage (All State).

Brandon was the most productive out of the three this year. It always has been about Seniors and Juniors unless you are a freshman sensation. If you get a chance read their bios on the MD Terps Football roster.

First, second, third team does not matter, what does is that you are recognized and it helps promote you and DEHS Football at the next level. Just my opinion.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Brandon Ross became just the fourth Terrapin to rush for 250 yards or more in a game, but Maryland lost its 2015 home finale to Indiana, 47-28, at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium Saturday afternoon.

Ross joins LaMont Jordan (306 yards vs. Virginia, 1999), Bruce Perry (276 yards vs. Wake Forest, 2001) and Josh Allen (257 yards vs. Virginia, 2003) as the only Terps to rush for more than 250 yards in a game. The senior also scored three touchdowns in the game, making him the first player in Maryland history to have at least 250 yards rushing in a game with three or more touchdowns.

The 250-yard performance also vaulted Ross up the career rushing list for the Terps. He now has 2,375 career rushing yards, which places him ninth on the all time list, passing Willie Joyner (2,140 yards, 1980-83), Alvin Blount (2,158 yards, 1983-86) and Louis Carter (2,266 yards, 1972-74).
