So who has credible information about this second Turner kid (Kwa’jree) on Newark? I heard he was joining the team. He played against Mount, but was not in uniform for Appo. He is now listed on their roster.

Who is this kid?
Where was he all season?
Is he on the team or not?
Why would he be allowed to join the team with 3 games left in the season?
Is he Kineph Turner's brother?

All I know is he is kinephs turners brother
 
He's on the team and will play the rest of the season. He's kineph's brother, 10th grader, started varsity at Howard in 9th and at Moyer as a 8th grader. He's instant offense to say the least. He received D1 offers already based off of his aau play. My personal belief is he's a top 5 player based on what I've seen this season. He'll have to adjust his game due to starting late but he's a player that should have the most touches on any team he plays on.

I heard questions about him not having the DIAA required practice days in when he played in the Mount game. I think he played quarter in the jv game and late in the varsity game. Did Coach McCants play an ineligible player b/c the game was already lost? Ethics? Makes sense when you sit a kid for 3 minutes in the Howard game after punching a kid in the face after the Concord game.

Newark didn't play Howard this year

You might be right it but it was reported from a Hot Shots tournament that Iona and NJIT gave him his first offers. I wasn't there so your right I'm going off what his head coach reported

Top 5 over who? D1 offers? Who would offer after playing half a season freshman year due to grades. That D1 coach would be in big trouble without research on a kid. Most touches on any team? Newark is already good. The hype could cause this kid to mess up their team imo

You sound like an FBI agent lol why so many questions and why do you care. All teams add and lose players report card time at public schools. If he made the grade and wants to play with his brother and the team so what. I like to see good players play

I know McCants from Wilmington and he has done a good job and for you to question ethics is disrespectful to a guy like that. Everyone know he truly cares about his players and does things the right way. Everyone know his player didn't punch but mushed that kid after the kid tripped his player. You must be a coach or AD at a rival school or secret hater on Newark for your post. City people know that McCants will help a talented city kid or troubled kid stay in line and he uses basketball and his personality to try to help save those kids since he worked at project stay free.
 
If it was me, I would allow younger brother to be involved with the team but not play him. His team is already set. His time is next year maybe. Get use to practice and the atmosphere and see his brother senior year. If he listens to some of you guys it will be a disaster. Grades if he that good might be important. Good luck to all the publics this year. Enjoy it while it last.

Your scatterbrain. Read what you wrote a few post back. If he's got the grades let him play. Lots of coaches do that...... If saving inner city kids is his purpose, then here's a piece of advice. Set limits and hold them. The real world does.
Oh, and if city parents are so high on the coach, lets see how many take their kids down there when Christina give their city kids to Red Clay.

  3. There's a lot of mis-information on this board (ie., posts about Kineph flunking off) and I was just trying to get some straight information
  4. I get joining team after you get your grades up, but with 3 games left, that just seems disruptive

Maybe (I have no inside info) the players wanted him on the team.

He's the same kid that was scoring 20 - 30pts in fall league games with running clocks.

Maybe coach rewarded him for getting his grades up by allowing to be apart of the team.

My biggest remaining curiosity is why he played one game and then was gone for the next.

DIAA says u have to practice 7 days before you play, so he shouldn't of been playing until 8 days after report cards came out.
