My Top 5

Scott (St. Thomas Moore)
Walsh (Sanford)
Cramer (Mount Pleasant)
Ingraham (Salesianum)
Kent (St. Andrews)

How tall should one have to be to be considered a big?

Your list has only 3 people taller than 6'5"

@Educated Eye. Good point. Big big men are hard to come by in Delaware. I believe my height estimates below are fairly accurate. I define "big man" as playing the 4 or 5 spot.

Ingraham 6'7"
Kent 6'9"
Walsh 6'7"
Scott 6'5"
Cramer 6'4"

My top 5 bigs 4-5 position

1. Ingraham 6' 8'
2. Scott 6'5"
3. Walsh 6'8"
4. Vincent Kent 6' 9"
5. Zack Kent 6' 10"

It will be interesting to see how Z. Kent performs vs. the bigs listed above. He'll get Walsh 2X and one shot each at V. Kent and A. Scott, not to mention a match up with Woodlin (Dover). I've never seen him play but I hear he has some big offers on the table.

I like that you added Vincent, he doesnt score much but definitely impacts the game

Vicent Kent put in a lot of work this year with conditioning, doesn't even look like the same kid physically and perhaps he may have trimmed down a little to much but either way I respect the work ethic. He is a solid defender and rebounded at 6' 9 and can finish around the rim, he will definitely get an opportunity to get a college education paid.

The issue with Woodlin is his decision making which knocked Dover out of the playoffs early last year. Bad unnecessary fouls, bad shot selections, silly plays like techs for hanging on rims or turnovers. In tough games this year i see a repeat of last year with him. I want this team to do well which is why i'm saying this. As far as raw talent he can play but serious improvement has to occur in the BBall IQ department for them to get far in this years tournament.

St Thomas More Has Two Good Bigs In Scott And Revelle Who Is Currently Hurt But Set To Return This Month

1. Ingraham 6' 8'
2. Scott 6'5"
3. Walsh 6'8"
4. Vincent Kent 6' 9"
5. Zack Kent 6' 10"

If you don't play in the paint your not a big and I don't care how tall you are. The Roberson kid plays the 3 for Cape. Has a nice touch and rarely bangs down low. He will stick his nose in and rebound but that's not what he really wants to do. He is a solid player and if he ever develops a post game he will be a nightmare for any SF

Woodlin has to be in the mix. His foul trouble and eventual fouling out vs St. Georges was huge and a difference maker in that game.

DE basketball is on the rise or should I say has risen

Lol Woodlin has a knack for fouling out as he did against Sanford as well. He can be good but he is not that great unless the team is running and he can get open floor. He struggles playing defense in the half court and does not rebound anywhere near how he should. Maybe it's coaching maybe its heart but i think the kid could be special he's just not right now.

Woodlin is one of the States finest. I believe the coach is trying to get him ready for the next level (college) which is a good thing. He is playing out front on the press (full court). He is playing some point guards in the half court sets. He is also playing wing players. I agree he is fouling to much during this experiment. Dover was up 10 to 12 points on St Georges. They came back with Woodlin on the bench. I agree with getting kids ready for the next level and I also agree in winning the game. Once he pick up his 2nd or 3rd foul I would allow him to be the rim protector he is. When he foul out of the game Hamrick and Rawls just attack the rim. The big fella is just learning a new position. He needs to move his feet more against faster players. He will be fine. I promise you every team in Delaware would take him on their team.

The St. George's win had more to do with MIA Allen at crunch time than anything Woodlin did. Lamar & kyson produced in the forth, Allen huged the parameter and disappeared. Woodlin is a talented young man who will have an opportunity to play D1. His BBall decision making however is poor. I would sit with him as a coach and go over tapes. Sometimes u have to put down the balls and spend some time watching tapes & educating. Talent is necessary but decision making will sink your ship. The issue is not whether most delaware schools would take him, it's will they invest extra time to educate him on how to become successful at the next level. It is the combination of talent, work ethics and IQ that produces success @ the next level. The interesting thing is this is an easy fix and only takes a little extra effort from coaching staff or parent. I have Woodlin down as a 3 so this list would not include him.

Cape @ Dover tonight should give us a little more idea of how good both of their bigs are. Hoskins along w/ Rickards & Robertson will also put 3 of DE' top sophomores on display.

If Cape can make foul shots and keep Hoskins off the boards they win 65-62. You heard it here first and probably only lol.

Dover is good and should be at the Bob when the dust clears. However, I'm just not sold on what they do and how they do it. They definitely have the pieces but they have always had the pieces and not much to show for it.

Cape is a dark horse for a tourney run. Along with a scrappy Smyrna.

I agree w/ Dover having the pieces & Cape & Smyrna are also my downstate sleepers to challenge Dover for that Henlopen North. Smyrna will be a hard out for any team in DE & I watched them dismantle an athletic Milford team that should win the Henlopen South.
