St. Andrews Watts named top receiver.

9 out of 14 are D2, from schools Tower Hill, Caravel, St. Elizabeth’s, Conrad, Brandywine, Friends, A.i. DuPont, Delmar, and St. Andrews

The 5 D1 come from Hodgson, Dover, Mount Pleasant and 2 from Middletown.

I think they mistakenly put WRs and really meant DBs. Like, for real.

Well I can’t speak for other teams, but Middletowns TJ Butler is strictly playing defense this year. De’quez belongs, but so does Zay Griffin. He’s the Cavs #1 receiver. So just that info alone makes the list laughable honestly.

Seeing how Devin stayed at Smyrna he also belongs on the list. You can make a case for Potter from Caravel as well.

There’s a few kids on that list I think should be moved down or higher for that matter. I’ll be bold and say, me personally, I don’t think Watts is the best wife receiver in the state. Yes he’s a good player but compared to 3-4 players on this list I’d have them above him.

As I said before coaches submit Myers comprise. Did Blum submit Griffin's name? If not does Myers even know who he his because I believe with his top list he also included a other to watch list. Obviously you are a follower so you know so please tell the board what has he done to be considered a top WR. Also if Blum didn't send anything Myers knows of Butler going to the school and after 3 years a 2 different schools he has played WR/RB and DB. It would not be a bad guess to say he will not be playing RB at Middletwon but may play DB and WR the same as De'quez.

Also not knocking the kids talents but what has Devin at Smyrna down to be considered a top receiver and again did Judy submit anything. We all know Myers goes around watching but probably is the most knowledgable about every team in the state. He closely follows a selected few like most others.

Post your list for record of the top WRs.

@TruthSerum1 What kids do you think do not belong or should be on there?Outside of those schools what schools actually really throw the ball in a heavy run state to have a kid get recognized as a WR.
I think HSftballaxFan is spot on about the St. Andrew’s kid along with the fact that Walker only played WR last year for a few games when others were out hurt. Also, outside of the rankings there were “other players to watch” and there was a kid from Dover who is there star basketball player that hasn’t played since his freshman or sophomore year who is now a senior, and to my knowledge he’s not playing his senior year.
Last but not least, how do you have TEs and WRs ranked together? It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense @VoiceofReason247

And it wouldn’t be fair for me to make a list because I don’t see every team play. But I do know some that have no business being on a list of top WR, starting with the TEs. lol

And your response, or your questions is the answer. If that makes sense. How does the News Journal tank these players if they are only going by what the coaches submit when half the coaches don’t participate. I know this for a fact as I was part of DIFCA. You’d be surprised how many coaches just don’t care about the “press” part of it and their willingness to comply with your requests. Yes, Myers does his “gridiron tour” but he only sees about 7-8 schools. He knows as much as we do this time of year. In fact, I’ll go as far as you get more information from us guys and girls on here than the news paper, and sometimes quicker. Again it’s just my honest opinion. He could do better given his resources

I guess I should add that I appreciate what he does, it’s not an easy thing to do, everyone thinks your right or wrong, or has your favorites. So I do respect him and what he does. But the lists that he does are just a joke. Don’t start them til week 3-4 when things start to play out.

As far as Devin, I’ve seen him play, he’s a matchup problem with anyone lining against him because of how fast he is. Ive seen him enough to know that he belongs on this list. And ahead of some of the ones already on it.

Potter typically only played WR when CA switches to spread. Other than that he is a RB/DB. He is going to Nova as a DB. Based on last year offensively he is a RB. Obviously in 7v7s he played all WR and DB

What kid from StE is a top receiver? They graduated whole team last year.

According to TNJ, Tight End Luke Schiavoni, 6-3 215.

Never seen the kid play.

He ranked his Top targets, not just Wide Receivers.
