University of Delaware has released Head Coach Dave Brock. Thoughts? Candidates?

Wow. I thought they would wait until the end of the season. New prez, new AD...new Bball and FB coaches

Well now all they have to do is figure out how to get all the boosters they drove away to come back. Oh yeah, maybe find some kids that actually want to go to the game too.

Coach Carter at DelState will be packing his bags at the end of the year......and there has been some fascinating speculation on this one.....

As a proud Hornet alum, I knew that man was in over his head considering the program doesn't even offer the max amount of FCS (I-AA) scholarships. I just hope they can get him a win before the administration kicks him out the door.

AD came from Michigan and the Wolverines are doing well. Could we see someone from the offensive side of the ball coming here?

Les miles will be coaching the blue hens by tomorrow morning
I know you are saying that as a joke, but if that were to happen, you would see an increase in talent level coming to UD. Maybe even a reason for some in state talent to stay home. Fall back would be Les Miles is use to the big stage and it would be temporary. He would be on the first train smoking back to a Big time FBS school.

I do. In all the years in the CAA he has never won a championship despite a full NCAA allotment of ships. His predecessor did a lot more with less than he ever did. The coach down there who ought to be sweating bullets is lacrosse. Five consecutive losing seasons.

Dear Blue Hen Family:

Since arriving in Newark this summer, I have quickly come to understand, what it means to be a Blue Hen. Having high expectations and creating a culture of excellence in the classroom and in competition are important values of the University of Delaware. With that in mind, I write to you today to share that we have informed Head Football Coach Dave Brock that he has been relieved of his duties.

Over the last 4 years, Dave has worked tirelessly to ensure that our student-athletes reflected our University values, and he has represented the University with class and dignity. Dave was successful in many ways, yet we simply did not accomplish enough on the field. As we evaluated the program, we concluded that a change was needed now for the benefit of our student-athletes, our program and our loyal fans. We wish Dave and his family all the best and thank them for their commitment to Delaware.

Co-Defensive Coordinator Dennis Dottin-Carter will serve as the Interim Head Coach for the remainder of the 2016 season.

We now turn to the task of finding a new leader for our storied football program. We will work hard to identify candidates who exhibit the coaching acumen, passion, work ethic and values that we insist upon at the University of Delaware. I ask that you be patient and respect our process to realize this objective. More importantly, I ask that you support these outstanding young men working so hard to represent the program in their remaining games for the season.

I am incredibly committed and optimistic about the future of Delaware Football and appreciate your support as we move forward.

Go Hens!

WTH- this is the letter we got......

Dear Fightin' Chicken posse,

Since arriving in Newark this summer, I have quickly come to understand what bars to hang out in and what frats throw the best shindigs.Having high expectations and creating a culture of excellence in the classroom are real nice but what matters is we win some damn ball games. With that in mind and a few scotch's in the belly I write to you today to say we done pulled the plug! Coach Dave Brock is out and after an exhaustive search and real nice monetary donation we have a new Coach in David Sills IV.
Dave Sills brings with him a wealth of knowledge in both shrewd business dealings and football. Although we expect to be on probation inside of 5 years-we are hopeful we can get the new stadium and a NCAA title before the bottom falls out. The assistant coaches should be comprised of those previously associated at Red Lion. Going forward, all players will not be required to attend traditional classes. Our new QB will be David the V effective immediately.

I am incredibly committed and optimistic about the future of Delaware Football and the new stadium we were promised. Money talks and I could care less what you think.

Go Chickens!

I don't see an issue with the baseball team, 147-122 (.547) last five years.

Of course, there is some disappointment. A couple of things (1.)The Colonial is 2 levels higher for baseball than the old America East. That doesn't mitigate some frustration. (2) The baseball coach has raised more money for his program than all of the other other head coaches combined at UD. Whether you like the guy or not he gets off his butt and raises money...

Now, you may disagree if you give Tina Martin or Monte Ross full credit for the practice basketball facility. I wouldn't do that..

Internet gold right there

I believe John Garrett OC from the Richmond Spiders and brother of Jason Garrett is going to come over and get the job. Just a name I've been hearing around.

how about Penn State.. who ever thought they could upset #2?
TR should of stayed there !!
UD football is a embarrassment...

And you think Keeler ruffled some feathers tooling around in the Porshe? The Dream Team mentioned above would finish those academics off! Lol

Should UD have waited until the end of the year to fire Brock.
Having an interim coach getting the same results just adds to the turmoil.

Brock should have been gone after last year. He got another chance when the Reeder kids decided to play at UD. They also thought they were going to be good this year. Good rushing game but the QB can't throw. Not sure they had any passing TDs last year and not many this year. QB with 40% completions and maybe 80 yards a game won't win you any games.

Definitely in need of an offensive shot in the arm...maybe Ciarocca would like a HC'n job.
