- MTown has been to 5 straight title games (2 wins). Newark had 7 straight with 5 straight wins in there.
- Sals have been to 5 championship games in the past 10 years (4 wins)
- Downstate hasn't been to a championship game since 2008
- Sallies and Penn have met in Title game 3 times since 1986 (Penn shut out Sals the last 2 times)
- Penn and Mtown could potentially play a rematch of last years championship game. 3 times since 1986 we have had title game rematches (Newark & Penn did it 3x in a row 1995, 1996, 1997)

- #2 Seed hasn't lost in the Semi Finals in the past ten years. #1 Seed has only lost once in ten years (2009).

2009 was strange year. All 4 D1 teams very close in abilities. AI, Slowskys, Sparty and CR. That year I believe Sparty had best talent. They did win in 2010.

Some added useless facts...

1. Of the remaining teams, the four have a combined 8 State titles within the last decade. Sallies and Middletown own 7 of those 8.

2. This would be Smyrnas first semi-final game in the history of the program.(?)

3. This would be the Divisions first ever game played at a BS 1 o clock.....Advatage - WP
(Anyone else miss the games being played at del state, and NOT on the same day? Your not alone)

I fail to realize how past history has any bearing on this years teams... its all coincidental.. Every HS team is different every year..

Answer to # 2
Smyrna lost in 1975 to Glasgow in the first D2 title game. Final score was 38-30 with Smyrna blowing a 2 TD lead in 4th Q. I can't remember Smyrna's coach? I think he was a former UD player.

Smyrna made the D2 semis in 1977 but got beat....forget by whom...maybe Christiana.

Thanks for the clarification bummy.

And BS 1 o clock is ..."Bullshit" 1 o clock. D1 draws a larger crowd, at least it usually does and should be the night game. Just my opinion.

They played at 1 o'clock last year to its not the 1st year for that start time.

Penn and Middletown played the late game last year three dogs d1.

Just not a fan of day games or morning games. It's called "FRIDAY NIGHT LIghts" not Saturday morning sunrise

I can see why you like the night games, but I remember when they were all played during the day and that has created some great memories. As far as the time of each title game-I wonder if you would think the same if the Cavs were D2 ?

Jawnsky, to be honest, it really doesn't matter if they were d1 or d2. That's not where I'm going with it. I'm sure you've had your qualities worth of games attended, but during my fair share, Friday night or Saturday morning, I've noticed big differences between the two. 1 being...fan attendance, 2, fan interaction ( too many people are still waking up from a rough Friday night to enjoy a Saturday game) so pretty much the atmosphere. Coming from a player, we play harder when the stands are really into the game and being loud...who wants to be loud at 10 am or 1 pm Saturday? Lol and 3 the entire gameplay just seems slower. Back in 2011 I believe it was, took the trip down to dagsboro to witness the sensation of Jamie Jarmon, I have friends who played and went to st. George's, attended plenty of their games, brother went to Hodgson and saw 2 or 3 of theirs before he graduated, and the overall performance during the day seems slow.

I'm not taking anything away from these programs or kids, they put as much if not more effort into their work than the next guy, but as a fan, a former athlete, games under the lights (in the words of WWE) "is what's Best for business"

Ask any player today, if they pefer day or night games, and I bet more than 90% of them will agree that they want night games.

William Penn doesn't have lights so isn't it kind of a dead issue. Either play during the day or in the dark. Those temporary lights Penn brought in were awful.
