Yes years before it was only 6 seeds like in Division 1

Click is correct...starting in 2012, D2 expanded to 8 teams in the playoffs. Prior to that, the number 6 seed was the lowest seed that could win and that last happened with Delmar in 2009.

Let's have some fun with this.....are there any teams on that list that in your opinion would have beat the D1 champion? I can think of three possibly four but I'm not sure of the exact year for two of them.

I believe the 2005 Caravel team ended the year ranked #1 in the state over a 3 loss Sallies D1 champ

def agree fan on 2013 HVT.. They had size ,speed and were playing lights out down the stretch... I don't know anything about the 89-90 CA teams...

The 89-90 Caravel teams was one that was on my list. The Middletown teams of the late nineties was another, I just couldn't remember specific years.

To keep the conversation going 2011 Indian River. I was at the D1 title game when Middletown upset Newark and IMO neither team would have beat IR. I seem to remember the 92 Dickinson team being special as well.

I remember talking to Biff after a playoff game at Caravel in 1990. I believe it was a close win over Lake Forest. That Caravel team was extremely talented.
