7 running clocks in Week 2 and probably could've been at least a couple more, but 20 percent through the 2019 regular season and we're starting to get a view of what is and what could be.
Hodgson bowled over St. Georges, so it looks like the game with Middletown next week be their last serious test until Sallies in late October. Middletown took it easy on Concord I would assume in preparation for Hodgson. That's going to be a good one.
I thought Dover would hang closer with Sallies but 1) Sallies is still very good and 2) Dover clearly still has some kinks to work out. A playoff spot might be a long shot considering Appo/St. G can 7-3 their way into that final spot, but time will tell.
Henny North is really going to be the last team standing and right now, it looks like Sussex Central is standing taller. Visiting Smyrna next week could provide some serious separation for the Golden Knights.
Caravel gets a big 6 points with a heart-stopping win over CR and inserts itself in the D2 playoff picture. Howard, Tower, Archmere, St. Mark's and Friends all won their games to move to 2-0, as did Red Lion, who may have something to say about that 8th playoff spot. Glasgow definitely will have a word about it after knocking off Brandywine in a thriller yesterday. Delmar getting blown out by Parkside was a shocker, but I don't think it eliminates them from playoff contention.
Best games of the week appear to be on Saturday for the most part, save for Central/Smyrna - I know a few of you will like that Hodgson/Middletown-Friends/Woodbridge doubleheader. I'll be at my alma mater's homecoming that day (Fighting Hornets, fight on to vic-to-ry...) so have fun for me.
