It's so confusing, the Website4Sports link has them as the Cardinals, other things I've seen have called them the Saints. So weird. Either way, that showdown with Tower next Friday night looks to be interesting.
According to their school website they are the Saints... I think they changed from Cardinals to Saints a few years back if I remember correctly
You have one guy reporting on #DELHS calling them Cardinals and another calling them Saints.. Marty is wrong Tresolini is correct

Out of 12 games 5 with a running clock, only 2 games were within a score of each other. I wonder if this trend will continue. I do thinknthe back half of the season will produce some more competitive games.
And with their next 3 being against DMA, Lake, and Sussex Tech there is the chance that they could be 0-7, might be one of the bigger shocks of the year.
not really.. only a few transfers this year and no stud QB from Jersey.. just saying
Most of the least competitive games will be in the 1A where you would expect them to be as well as games that involve the top tier vs bottom tier teams within the districts
even worse they are 0-3 inner-district They have DMA next week and still have to play in-district vs Lake, Tech and Woodbridge.. safe to say they are pretty much out for the playoffs..
They should get a couple wins though vs Odessa and Delcastle
That said 2AD3 is heating up.. Monster win for Tech over Lake last night... huuuuuge
One by-product of 1A & 2A using district games only is that we’re going to see some REALLY early clinching of playoff spots. Some teams already 3-0 in district play after only 4 games.
I may have missed it but are district's determined by district record or overall record. A team could be 4-6 overall with a 4-2 district record, while another team is 5-5 with a 3-3 district record. Which team is up in the district.
Overall record means absolutely nothing for the district. Only district games count.
Maxpreps has the standings set up correctly.. You can look at rankings for the whole state, by class and the districts are broken down using district record for standings..

I should add that overall point index will determine seedings, so in your example, if both teams made the playoffs, it’s likely the 5-5 team would be seeded higher.
Other than making the playoffs I am sure teams would like to hang a district champ banner if they should win it.. It would be like the banners you see in the big state schools gyms..
