Next week is the halfway point and granted anything can happen, we've got some separation as far as contenders and pretenders go.
In Division 2, Lake Forest and Caravel have announced their arrivals with signature wins - Lake stifled Friends and Caravel showed the heart of a champion with a 22-point 4th quarter to stun St. Georges. Woodbridge, Howard, DMA, Delmar and Tower kept rolling this weekend while Archmere picked up a big win over St. Mark's, who continues to confound and confuse. Howard being the class of Flight B by a mile means at least one extra playoff spot is going to open up and the race for that spot pretty much starts Friday.
Is Smyrna back? Hard to tell with Sallies missing Andrew Watkins, but beating the D1 champs and finalists in back to back weeks gives the Eagles a huge confidence booster as it's all Henny North from here. Hodgson's next challenges are Howard and Sallies, after that, they'll just cruise to a bye, so it's important they get teams like Mt. Pleasant out of the way early. Middletown and Dover are still in the hunt, as is Sussex Central. Anyone else should just be happy to be around.
