We're starting to get some clarity as to who will be playing after November 9th and who won't.

D1 - Hodgson continues to roll, though they shouldn't look past Howard even with the pomp and circumstance of retiring Chicago Bears lineman Bilal Nichols jersey Friday afternoon. Middletown has Braden Davis back and while CR wasn't exactly a litmus test, the band is back together for that Cavs offense. Sallies needs a couple of big wins for confidence sake heading into their Hodgson/Mtown gauntlet near the end of the season. Smyrna and Central look to be the class of the Henny North, although Dover could still get in with a 6-4 record.

D2 - Woodbridge is a sentimental favorite, but they were a really good team even before this tragedy befell them. It's hard to ask 15, 16, 17 year old kids dealing with their first real loss in their lives to be at a high emotional level all year long, but they're still the favorites in D2, hands down. Friends came up with a BIG win at Delmar, but it may have cost them as Wyatt Nelson was injured. They should be fine right up to the Tower Hill game. Howard faces its first real test Friday, visiting D1 Hodgson, but they also play the Silver Eagles close, so that should be a good one. Caravel meanwhile has one of the most complete teams for their roster size I've seen in a long time - strong lines, solid backs, a QB who makes the right decision at all times - they're my co-dark horse along with Lake.

Dover cannot get in with 4 losses.. I saw Sean Green post that on twitter he doesn't know what he is talking about lol..wishful thinking I guess

6-4 Dover 35 + 5bp 40

6-4 Penn 40+ 4bp 44
6-4 Sals 38 + 7bp 43
6-4 Appo 38 + 4bp 42
6-4 St G 37 + 5bp 42
(three of these teams would have to lose 5 for Dover to get in)

A lot of these reporters really have no clue what they are talking about. I think it had to be the “good guy” act. Because if they eliminate a team already in Week 5 and kids start quitting cause they have nothing to work for, could be a backlash they don’t want.

If you ever actually Sat and listened to the 302 guys during some of their broadcasts they are along those lines too. Any person who knows their football, and well, not just some Joe Smo who sits in the stands and watches their kid play for a year or two, no, but someone that knows inside and out can laugh at some of the things those guys say. You can sit at the same game they are broadcasting and know that said team is a mediocre one who should be happy at a 5-5, 6-4 record but these guys portray them as someone who can hang with the Hodgsons and Woodbridge’s of the world.

I appreciate the efforts they put forth for sure, but only a select few that covers games in this state, really has no clue what they are reporting. Buddy Hurlock was one of the Greats. Brad Myers seemed to have gotten better but who knows, there’s no more articles in the paper about big games. It’s a two sentence highlight reel and then the final. They post pictures and videos now, and to be honest, I’d rather have something to read. OR if you do the videos, have someone speaking in the background with the play by play of the highlight.

The State News does it right, but they are self centered about just Downstate teams. f#%? The upstate ones.

Dover allready has an issue with kids quitting because it has become the Peace show. Dover not playing for a state title they are playing for a POY award

even sadder is the voters don't ussualy vote for 5-5 teams players.. Just like last year with Fry I bet Henry out ballots him.. more voters up north.. they vote for players from winning teams or D1 offered kids. They could do a co OPOY though it's been done before
