WILMINGTON, DE – Nordia Henry scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 21 rebounds and Michelle Whalen (William Penn) scored 16 points to lead Wilmington College past Goldey-Beacom College 70-51 Friday evening in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference women’s basketball action at MBNA America Hall.


Andrea Jones added 19 points and eight rebounds for the Wildcats (13-13, 9-12 CACC), who swept the season series from their cross-town rivals. The Lightning (5-21, 4-17 CACC), who have now lost four-straight games, missed all 15 of their three-point field goal attempts and shot just 26.0% for the game.


Sophomore Kim Rowley (Dover, DE) scored 12 points and snared a team-high 18 rebounds but shot just 4-13 from the field while classmate Toni Jones (Rehobeth Beach, DE) also finished with 12 points.


The Wildcats outrebounded the Lightning 69-52 and held them to three assists while forcing 17 turnovers to help overcome 18 turnovers of their own.


The Lightning conclude their 2004-05 season tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Felician College for a 4 p.m. contest.
