Sallies vs the rest

Does anyone on here know the truth about Sallies participating in the end of year Geico national HS lax tourney. This is one of the best sallies teams I have seen, and if them showcasing their talents at the national HS tourney means forfeiting a DEL state title I think it is worth it this year. My understanding is DIAA has told them they can not participate in the DEL state tourney if they play in the Geico tourney(I do not know if that is true). Any insight to this?

Think PA IAC with Malvern and Haverford was a possibility discussed previously, and who knows maybe "they" will get invited to Geico this year. Cape has great coaching but are significantly farther from the hotbed clubs, which does matter. Delaware is an extremely small state, Wilmington specifically, so I understand that the kids want to go where the best lacrosse is. However I think it is disingenuous to call the recruiting recruiting argument "tired" as it is paramount to their success, just ask Sanford, Tower Hill, and Kennet.

I posed this question because more silverware is always fun to play for. They would do well to compete and have the opportunity to beat Malvern or Haverford in a high stakes game with a trophy on the line, and then have the opportunity to play Cape soon after for another.
I think they are already doing that with ice hockey. Last year they won the Flyers Cup as the best H.S. team in the immediate tri-state area. As far as the State Championship is concerned it has been pretty much a joke since lax became a staple in Delaware H.S sports. Any team whose name begins with an S or a C has won it almost every year . Then again, look at girls field hockey. Cape has won it like thirteen years in a row.

Slax takes down IMG in OT 17-16. Up next, Malvern. What “they” want to be known as is a team and school that is committed to excellence. Work hard, be committed, team first, goal- oriented. It’s that simple. Success will breed success. The “recruiting “ argument is tired. Players want to compete at the highest level and also get a quality education. End of story
Cheers to Salesianum for their recent rankings and results, however “they” will soon be a boarding school (finally) and this argument will be over. Players do not transfer for an education, that is an irrelevant point. Hopefully they’ll join an appropriate conference with some of the private PA schools.

Sallies’ “commitment to excellence” is more so a commitment to mediocrity. With their success, they could’ve broken through to the next level a decade ago. Instead they chose complacency and prefer playing a Smyrna or two in the regular season and to scrape out a Delaware state championship against a public school full of part-time lacrosse players full-time life-guards.

Just finished watching the end to the Salesianum vs Lawrenceville game. Pretty impressive that they almost pulled it off. I can't help but ask - what satisfaction do the Sals get at the end of the season. Its all well and good having the tri-state area to recruit from (and apparently Canada, lol), suck the life out of the surrounding Wilmington private school's talent, and have all of these commits, but when the end of your season is competing against a southern public school for 1 trophy (that you have lost to and recent years has been a close game), is that really what they want to be known as? I just feel like if you are going to play the minimum in-state games and then flaunt your Delaware State Championship records / streaks with all of your resources, you could be a little more ambitious and try to have more competitive hardware to play for at the end of the season and join one of these conferences.
