Smyrna Eagles Baseball Claims Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Newark Charter.
Smyrna's Liam Meginniss took the bump for the Eagles, Mcginness threw a strong 4 innings, scattering 4 hits and allowed 1 earned run w/ 4 K's.
Newark Charter got on the board in the first inning when Campbell Leighton singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
The game was tied at one with Smyrna Eagles Baseball batting in the top of the fifth when Derek Davis doubled plating 1 run. Smyrna would add 3 additional runs to take 5-1 lead.
In the bottom of 5th, Newark Charter answer back scoring 2 runs thanks to Harach single to CF, Leighton doubles to put runners on 2nd and 3rd. Klima hits into FC-scoring Harach and eventually added a run a BB.
Smyrna's Jake Macey earned the save scattering 2 hits, allowing 1 w/ 2K's.
Smyrna Eagles Baseball tallied six hits in the game. Macey and Connor Wilson all had multiple hits for Smyrna Eagles Baseball. Wilson and Macey each collected two hits to lead Smyrna Eagles Baseball.
Newark Charter School racked up seven hits on the day. Leighton and Chase Huebner all managed multiple hits for Newark Charter.

Red Lion 18 Odyssey Charter 0 Seniors Mason Nester (5-5, with a 2b, 3b and 3 RBI) and Zach Villamor (3-3, 3 RBI) collected 8 of Red Lion's 16 hits to lead the Lions to a win at Frawley Stadium. Also hitting doubles were Will Koble and Riley Burroughs. Four pitchers combined to strike out 11 in the 2 hit shutout. Bryce Johnson and Ian Lester collected the hits for Odyssey.
