Wondering because I’m new to this. Looking at Laurel’s schedule and I’m guessing they got 2 points for playing Hodgson and Sussex Central (when they were in top 10). But who did they play to get third 2? Or am I misunderstanding the calculations?

Also have a question please, appreciate the work and info you have provided but was curious as to the points totals. I understand based on the DIAA manual breakdown but as an example looking at your 24/25 seeds, I interpret the SMHS total to be 36 over the 18 games and Decastle to be at 32 over 18. I was just curious as to what I’m seeing/ interpreting differently. Thanks again for providing the info

Laurel's 5 bonus points come from Hodgson (2), St. Thomas More (2) and for now Delmar (1)

Delcastle lost a point because Mt. Pleasant is no longer above .500 (for the time being)

St. Mark's has 31 unless we're counting opponents twice, then it would be 36.

Thank you I missed the Mount dropping under .501, and I was under the impression that the point totals where based on a per game/ team basis... so over the course of 20 games each game is treated as an individual point scenario.

So points cannot accurately be assessed until all the games are played? So when you play a team that drops under 500 by the end of the season, points have to be adjusted. How do we account for teams that are playing less than 20 games???

Agreed, that I am not sure of. Do they just take point total and divide by number of games? Let’s say a team has 33 but finished with only 19 games played. I remember in football a few years back there was a team scrambling to find a 10 th opponent late in the year in order to get their D1 points into the tourney. I don’t recall the complete scenario or even if the two sports are treated to the same rules. Is there a requirement stating a games played minimum? The date deadline for getting games in or rescheduled is in effect and firm unless let say weather or something of that nature has effected them. Thanks again

The way it's been interpreted, whatever number of games a team finishes with is what you divide their total points by. Dickinson, St. E and Ursuline each have 19 games and St. Thomas More has 18, so you divide whatever their final point total is by their number of games.

It is what it is, but to have Hodgson 3rd, when the only good team they played was St. E's, who beat them 73-47, its not good. They will get their butts handed to them Saturday in the BH Conference Finals. Then what? Its ok because it always get down to the last 4 teams and then we can watch some decent basketball. Thanks GKF for all the updated calcs.

Going to make one more calculation/projection thread Sunday after this weekend's games are played. The 5 to watch tonight and tomorrow are:

Cape at St. Georges - St. G needs to win out for a home game, Cape still has a shot to make the tournament, but they need a win and some help.

Concord at Sanford - Concord's in danger of missing out but their schedule will like have them as one of the last three in. Sanford wins out, they should pass Hodgson for the 3rd seed.

Conrad at St. E - Vikings can boost their resume with a win tonight, Conrad looks to hold on to the 2nd seed and possibly tie Caravel for 1st, which of course would give Conrad the overall top seed because of the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Tower Hill at Wilmington Christian. Wilmington Christian can solidify a home game and a possible favorable 2nd round match up with a win.

Polytech at Sussex Tech - Poly needs a win to stay alive, Sussex Tech needs a win to hold on to a first round bye.

According to websites4sports (not always the best source, I know), St. Thomas More has played just 16 games and has no more on the schedule. The DIAA manual says a team has to play a minimum of 18 to be eligible. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Ravens lost a game vs. Ss. Peter & Paul of Easton, Md., and Tri-State Christian. Also, a game against Freire Charter was changed to a scrimmage.

My guess is StTM's gonna try and make up the SPP/TSC games before the 21st. If not, then that's gonna be real awkward come Friday at 2 pm when the brackets are announced.
