e. Tie-breaking criteria.

1) Head-to-head competition. If three or more teams are tied, they must all have played each other.

2) Records against common opponents.

3) Number of opponents with 65% or better records.

4) Number of opponents with 50% or better records.

5)The Baseball Committee will decide.

6) Once a tie is broken between three teams, if a tie still exists between two teams, the tie-breaking criteria will revert back to Item 1C3e

That is what is posted in the tournament manual, the questions are these...

In regards to point 2 - does it matter that the records against common opponents will hae an uneven amount of games? For example, and this is just an example, this year if Sanford and Conrad had tied, they shared 2 common opponents, Tatnall and Wilmington Christian. Conrad record 2-0, Sanford record 4-0. Advantage Sanford????

In regards to point 3, it says number of opponents with 65% or better, again to use the Independent Conference as a guideline, that's number of opponents, which is different than number of games. For example Tatnall and DMA are tied and it gets down to this criteria, Tatnall has 9 games, but only 5 different opponents, while DMA(with a Polytech win) would have 6 games, with 6 different opponents. Advantage DMA???

I was wondering if others interpret these the same way.......

FWIW, my interpretation is:

Records against common opponents would be measured by winning percentage.

Number of opponents with ##% or better records would only count the opponent once, regardless of how many times you played against them (unlike the points system).

Those rules could use more detail and examples.

great work!!!

rules need lots of work

does anyone think that diaa actually cares?

those 2 only care about a check
