Just finished the season on Monday, but it's always nice to talk about who should be good next season, provided we have no major transfers or superstar freshmen coming in.
1. Conrad - just won the chip and will return their entire starting lineup. Could be the start of a dynasty.
2. Sanford - Losing Allie Kubek really hurt them in the tournament, but as long as everybody stays put, Sanford returns everybody but 1 senior.
3. Caravel - Maia Bryson and Kaylee Otlowski graduating are major blocks gone, but still having Warren/Cauley/Marvel gives CA a nice big three and with the right contributions, they could be finalists again next year.
4. St. E - Vikings lose their post presence in Alexis Lee, but Juliann McCarron and Ber'Nyah Ward-Mayo could be the state's best guard tandem next year. They find someone that give them comparable to what Lee did and they'll be back at the Bob again.
5. Ursuline - UA loses three important seniors (Connolly, Mason and Allie Olmstead) but a healthy Kay Wulah along with the young girls who got experience this year should keep Ursuline in the title chase.
6. St. Thomas More - DahNaijah Barnes graduates, but Kaylah Barnes, Aniah Patterson and Jessica Simmons return, as well as Olivia Lynch who had solid freshman year. Ravens could be a sleeper next season.
7. Sussex Tech - the tourney draw hurt them otherwise I felt they were a Final Four team. They return all their important pieces next season and will likely have to hope for a better seeding outcome again in 2019.
8. Hodgson - One more year of dynamite from KBY and JPJ, but they need at least two more scoring options and someone who can defend the paint to be a Final Four team.
9. Howard - Kayla Rouse is the only graduating starter, but Howard must find someone to fill her shoes. Still have a really nice big three with Blatch-Huggins, Wright and Hollis.
10. Caesar Rodney - Returns of a lot of talent, lost some talent, but hopefully they'll get off to a better start than they did this year, which is what killed their title chances IMO.
Next up - Woodbridge, St. Georges, Wilmington Christian, Padua, Appo, Archmere
