NEWARK, Del. - - With the final rankings prior to the NCAA Selection Show, the Wilmington University men’s soccer team held firm at No. 3 in this week’s NCAA Super-Region 1 poll while moving up a spot to No. 13 in this week’s United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll.

The Wildcats won their final regular season game of the year, 3-0, over Chestnut Hill, and then advanced to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament Semifinals with a 6-0 victory over Felician in the First Round earlier this week. The Wildcats are now 16-2-1 overall on the season.

Wilmington held firm at No. 3 in the Super-Region 1 Rankings, behind only Franklin Pierce and Charleston. Davis & Elkins is ranked fourth followed by Gannon, Lock Haven, West Chester, American International, Southern New Hampshire, and Millersville to round out the Top 10 combining the East and Atlantic Regions.

The Wildcats are No. 2 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II East Region Poll, behind only Franklin Pierce. In the National Poll, the Wildcats moved up a spot to No. 13 in the country. Young Harris remains the top team in Division II according to the Coaches Poll, followed by Palm Beach Atlantic, Davis & Elkins, Franklin Pierce, and the University of Charleston who round out the Top 5.

The CACC Tournament Semifinals will be held on Friday at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut. The 2nd seeded Wildcats will battle the 3rd seeded Chargers from Dominican in the second match, starting at 12:30 p.m.
