Scrimmages

The varsity played 3 quarters. Howard was able to hit a few big passes, one for a 50 yard TD on a 4th down play. Ran a 7 yard out and took it to the house. Had another deep pass that the receiver was able to moss over the DB. They also had a few good run plays that they were able to set up for a score. DMA defense didn't play bad just gave up big plays that gave Howard easy scoring opportunities. DMA offense would move the ball and then give up a turnover or a sack and it would stall their drive. Overall Howard 20 DMA 6. Howard does have a couple big receivers who may cause some serious headaches, and their running backs were good and ran downhill. DMA needs to be able to finish drives and not give up the big play and I think they will be fine

Will Anybody Repeat?

I might be wrong but the 2023 Champions were:

AAA - Salesianum
AA - Caravel
A - Tatnall

I believe it was trapblock22 that made the case that Caravel might have been better than the Sals. I know nothing about the lower 2 Divisions.

On the AAA, let me point out the Big S's 2 toughest in state games are away this year. They have very little chance of winning at Smyrna or Middletown. Also, and this one will rock your brain, the Big S hosts Malvern this year. Reflect upon this: the cumulative score for the last 3 Sals - Malvern games is 115 to 0 in favor of the Friars. Malvern has thrashed the Sals 42-0, 38-0 and 35-0. Can we get Bib's running clock gif ready to crank again?

Suffice it to say Bummy sees 3 big losses on the Sals schedule before the first kick off. The '24 AAA state title will move back to South of the C & D Canal.

Better minds than me can ponder the outcomes of A & AA.
