The defending state champion and top seed 14-0-1 Cape Henlopen Vikings behind the 2nd half goals by Camryn Bernheimer and Allie Yeager defeated the 16th seed Raiders of Ursuline Academy by a 2-0 score. Ursuline ends their season at 9-6-1








1 goal each by Alyssa Jacobs and teammate Camryn Dennis paced the 5th seed Lady Panthers at 14-2 of Polytech to a 2-1 win over the Lady Ravens of Sussex Tech. Torrie Huk scored the only goal for the Lady Ravens as their season ends at 11-4








Mckenzie Frederick's only goal of the contest paced the 4th seed Sanford Warriors at 12-2-1 to a 1-0 win over the 13th seed Bucs of Caravel at 9-5-2.








The 8th seed Wilmington Christian Warriors at 12-2-2 on the only goal by Sydney Baffone defeated the 9th seed Lady Hawks of St. Georges at 12-3-1

Volleyball Quarter Final Round








In a quarter final round of the 2013 DIAA Girls State Volleyball Tournament, the 2nd seed St. Marks Spartans at 13-3 defeated the 5th seed and 13-3 Charter Force by a 3 games to 0 score: St. Marks Leaders: Abbie Mirabella 29 kills and 11 digs Claudia Seemans 34 assists Peyton Reno 11 kills Lauren Sorentino 16 digs








In another quarter final game the defending champion and top seed Lady Pandas of Padua Academy at 16-0 defeated the Lady Eagles and 9th seed Smyrna Eagles at 13-3 by a 3 games to 0 score: Padua Leaders: Jennifer Borio 14 kills Allyson Jennings 11 kills Sarah Cushing 28 assists Haley Baker 11 assists

For the first time since 1988 the 10th seeded Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant haven't had a winning season or haven't made the boys state soccer tournament but today for their first time since the tournament has expanded to a Division II format Noah Miles game winning shoot out after a 0-0 tie after regular season and 2 10 minute overtimes with the shootouts even at 10-10 broke the tie at 11-10 to pace the Knights at 10-5-1 to a 1-0 shootout win over the 7th seed Auks at 8-7-1.








In the second game Daniel Rhodes game winning goal in overtime paced the 11th seed Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy at 8-7-1 to a 2-1 overtime win over the 6th seed Tower Hill Hillers at 9-5-2

Morgan Lamey's only goal of the contest paced the 10th seed Lady Force of Charter School at 11-2-2 to a 1-0 win over the 7th seed Lady Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant at 13-3.





The 2nd seed Lady Hornets of Tatnall School at 14-2 on 2 goals by Meredith Boardman along with 1 by teammate Cynthia Sellar defeated the 15th seed Lady Riders of Caesar Rodney who end their season at 10-6 by a 3-2 score.





1 goal each by Danielle Kuller and Margo Tschantz paced the 11th seed Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends at 10-3-3 to a 2-1 win over the 6th seed Lady Pandas of Padua who end their season at 13-3.





Saturday, November 9th, 2013 Field Hockey Recaps





1 goal by Tess Bernheimer, Allie Yeager, Amanda Smith and Samantha Broadhurst paced the top seed and defending champion Cape Henlopen Vikings at 14-0-1 defeated the Lady Warriors of Wilmington Christian by a 4-0 score.





The 3rd seed Delmar Wildcats at 16-1 after trailing 1-0 on a goal by Quaker Margo Tschantz came back on 1 goal each by Paige Twilley Webster and teammate Sara Ellis defeated the the Lady Quakers of Wilmington Friends at 10-4-3 by a 2-1 score.





1 goal each by Jamie Trabaudo, Jessica Rutkowski and teammate Angeliqica DeFillippo paced 5th the seed Lady Panthers of Polytech at 15-2 to a 3-1 win over the #4 seed Lady Sanford Warriors at 12-3-1.





2 goals by Shay Cannon 1 on a penalty stroke paced the 2nd seeded Lady Hornets of Tatnall at 15-2 as they defeated the 10th seed Lady Force of Charter at 11-3-2 by a 2-1 score.

In the first semi final game of the 2013 DIAA Girls State High School Volleyball Tournament, the 11th seeded Lady Hillers from Tower Hill at 15-3 defeated the 10th seed Lady Raiders of Concord High School by a 3 games to 2 score. Game Scores are as follows TH 25-20, 25-20, 15-11 C 25-19, 25-23 (Concord Leaders Emily Panchak 16 kills and 26 digs Abbie Dischert 11 kills and 22 digs Lauren Portincasa 16 digs Catherine Mooney 23 assists Jess Fyock 12 digs and 21 assists Shianne Yeager 11 digs) Haley Yatsus 23 kills 8 aces 2 blocks 10 digs Elizabeth Wuerstle 8 kills 7 aces 2 blocks 2 digs 31 assists Grace Rovner 17 digs Isabelle Sobieski 5 kills 2 aces 7 digs and for their first time they have advanced to the championship round.





In the second game of the semi final round of the 2013 DIAA State Girls Volleyball Tournament, the Lady Pandas and current defending champion Padua Academy at 18-0 defeated Catholic Conference rival and 14-4 and 4th seed Lady Spartans of St. Marks 3 game to 2 Games scores are as follows: P 25-21, 29-27, 15-13 SM 25-20, 25-22. Padua Leaders: Jennifer Borio 22 kills Allyson Jennings 15 kills Stephanie Annone 11 kills, Sarah Cushing 30 assists, Haley Baker 20 assists Allison Frey 15 digs St. Marks Leaders: Abbie Mirabella 38 kills, Peyton Reno 19 kills and 16 digs, Claudia Seemans 13 digs and 64 assists Lauren Sorentino 23 digs

Saturday, Novemer 9th 2013





In a Division II Soccer game the top seed Vikings of St. Elizabeth on 1 goal each by Brandon Gautier and Craig Harris defeated the Warriors of Wilmington Christian School by a 2-1 score.





3 goals Greg Ray along 2 by Luis Cruz paced the Indians of Indian River to a 8-0 win over the Green Knights of Mt. Pleasant.





1 goal by Daniel Rhodes along with the third set of penalty kicks defeated St. Georges by a 2-1 score.
