Field Hockey Semi Final Round 11-14-13

1 goal each by Sara Ellis and Shaina Thompson paced the Lady Wildcats of Delmar at 14-1 to a 2-1 win over Tatnall. Shay Cannon scored the only goal for the Lady Hornets as they finish their season at 13-2.

2 goals by Samantha Broadhurst, 1 goal each by Marlee McGinnis, Allie Yeager and Alexis Gooch paced the Lady Vikings of Cape Henlopen at 14-0-1 to a 5-0 win over the Lady Panthers of Polytech who finish their season at 14-2.


Tess Bernheimer's only goal of the contest at 39:45 paced the Lady Vikings of Cape Henlopen at 15-0-1 to a 1-0 win over the Lady Wildcats of Delmar 14-2 as they won their 3rd state title in a row.

Division I Semi Final Round Soccer Recap for 11-13-13

Yusef Basma's only goal in the 78th minute of the contest paced the 16-1 3rd seed Jaguars of Appoquinimink to a 1-0 win over the 2nd seed Vikings of Cape Henlopen who finish their season at 15-2.

The 3 time defending champion Sals of Salesianum at 17-0-1 will go for their 10th state title in 12 years on one goal each by Joe Cain on a 12 yarder and Matthew Paranczak defeated the 5th seed 13-4 Riders of Caesar Rodney by a 2-0 score. The Sals of Salesianum have won their 3rd state boys soccer title behind the goals of Jacob Meyer, James Durnan, Jason Norat, Benjamin Young and Christopher DiSabatino as they defeated a very good Appoquinimink High School squad by a 5-2 score.







Division II Semi Finals 11-13-13

Craig Harris only goal of the contest in the second overtime paced the top seed Vikings of St. Elizabeth at 15-2 to a 1-0 win over the 5th seed 11-4-1 Cardinals of St. Andrews.

The 2nd seed Indians of Indian River at 13-3-1 on goals by Luan Sales, Pat Mochiam, Luis Cruz, Sean Whalen and Gregory Ray defeated the 11th seed Seahawks of Delaware Military Academy by a 5-0 score.

For the first time in the DIAA Division II Soccer Finals and after a defeat by Salesianum in the 2012 soccer finals the Indians of Indian River made history as they became the first school since the DIAA expanded the tournament to a 2 division format claimed the Division II crown on 2 goals by Sam Izzo as they defeated the top seed Vikings of St. Elizabeth by a 3-0 score.

Willauer-Contributing Editor-Bob Degroat Field-Tower Hill School-Wilmington,DE-Friday, November 15, 2013-In a see-saw game game that was played at Bob DeGroat Field on the campus of Tower Hill School, but it was a different story as the 6th seed Woodbridge Raiders improve their record to 8-3 on qb Logan Wescott's td passes of 62 to Bragg Davis along with a 6 yard run (Passing 7 completions out of 13 attempts for 110 yards Carries 13 carries for 50 yards), Shedrick Rayford's 1 yard run and Jaylyn McGee's 20 yard fumble return for a td defeated the top 3rd seed previously undefeated Hillers of Tower Hill by a 28-21 score.

For the Hillers of Tower Hill who end their season at 10-1 Jermaine Knotts (11 carries for 104 yards) scored on a 21 yard touchdown run, Matt Smith (5 completions out of 14 attempts for 68 yards rushing 18 carries for 91 yards scored on a 38 yard run and Cole Wenzel scored on an 8 yard run.

The Hawks from St. Georges defeated Indian River Indians by 42-35 score both of the Selby twins Tarronn Selby 34 carries for 377 yards Keyjuan Selby 10 carries for 131 yards and contributed with touchdowns.

QB Raymond Jones carried the ball 15 times for 129 yards and scored 2 touchdown runs of 65 and 13 yards paced the Silver Eagles of Hodgson to a 38-14 win over Howard.



Derrick Groomes 9 yard pass to Corey Hart and scored on a 3 yard touchdown run paced the Buccaneers of Caravel to a 33-17 win over the Wildcats of Delmar.

Division I: Nick Spadafino's 3 touchdown passes of 40, 68 and 25 yards to Tauvaris Sample paced the Dover Senators to a 28-24 win over the St. Marks Spartans.
