Yaz8, your misplaced post got me thinking baseball. Anyone ready to start talking about the 2015 season?

I don't see a clear favorites to win it all this year. Caravel and SM will both lose quite a few starters from last year, but both programs seem to do that every year. I look for Smyrna and Conrad both to improve. I like DMA to win the Diamond State this year. I don't see MP returning to the playoffs.

Other opinions?

8Yaz is always ready to talk baseball, any time of the year. We all know St Marks and Caravel will be in the hunt, why would this year be any different. I'll be keeping an eye on Appo because I like that Julian Kurych kid. I actually think Newark has a shot a making some noise if the can get some pitching.

Conrad is the front runner in the Diamond State Conference. DMA had the best team last season. They won the Diamond State back to back years and last season should have been there best team. The administration makes a Coaching change and the team really never responded. I don't see them being as strong as they were last season so I don't see them winning the conference. Best of Luck to all come March 1st.

St Marks just reloads and still has Philips. Hodgson could be good. They return their top 2 pitchers Walter and Sayer. I liked Conrad last year. Young team getting tons of experience. 8YAZ is right about Newark. Looks like most of the team returns but they need pitching. Caravel returns top pitcher Bilous.

HSS, I kind of forgot about the Conrad-DMA head to head last year. I'm changing my pick to Conrad.

Lots of scrimmages scheduled for 3/7. Just four weeks away. Bundle up, and keep the pitch counts down.

Dover lost Cullen and Spadafino who are both on D1 rosters this year. I think they only graduated one or two other starters. Very strong returning group.

Most of Sallies' 2014 starters were seniors.

Arms to watch, obviously Phillips, McGrath (STG), Coates (Glasgow), possibly Hinton (Salesianum), Peluse (Middletown)....just a few

I hear Marvin Dooley is now the Head Coach for William Penn Baseball this year . Wonder if he has any tricks up his sleeve to be compettive this year ?

Add Walter(Hodgson), Burton(WPenn), Hyatt(Conrad) and possibly Hidalgo(AI if he comes from behind the plate). Walter and Hyatt both will need big years due to injuries to others on the staff.

Dooley will take a 9-9 team and get them to the cusp of a playoff spot in his first year and it will grow from there. They beat Middletown last year and hung with some other good teams. Just couldn't seem to score runs.
