Computer has it.. Officially on Cal/Maxpreps Howard ends ranked number 1 in the State.. Since the Maxpreps era 2004+ only 1 other D2 team ended ranked 1 in the state that was 2011 Red Lion..Next closest teams were 2018 Woodbridge and 2008 HVT ranked 2 and there have been a few D2's ranked 3rd Delmar,Caravel, RLCA, Howard, HVT, IR, St E

4. Archmere

Your top 3 I could go with but I wouldn't put Archmere above Smyrna, HVT, St Georges, CR or Sallies..all these teams would just over power and outrun them..not even close IMO

i think you misunderstood. I wasn’t ranking everyone. I took the question that was asked to rank the remaining 4championship game teams. I did. Now if I was rating the entire state that would be a different one entirely lol

You had the correct interpretation of my post. I should have just asked who would win a Howard-Central game.

Howard vs SC would be a very competitive game.

Middletown had a ton of talent not sure Blum and staff did a great job there.

Sallies should go after Ritter.

Awesome to see Central winning titles now, even if it is after I left the area. Between football and softball championships, Wells is building quite an impressive HOF resume.

06-07 Concord and 07-08 HVT should have been ranked #1 in the state those years. Both teams featured future NFL players and beat a loaded Caravel team in the finals.

The Hodgson/Caravel championship game in 2007 was one of the best games I’ve seen. For me personally it would go....

1. 2011 Semi Final - Middletown over Dover
2. 2007 State - Middletown over Central
3. 2015 Week 3 - Smyrna over Sallies
4. 2007 State - Hodgson over Caravel
5. 2011 Semi final - Newark over Sallies

reasons being, 1. Middletown and Dover was going back and forth all the way til the 4th qt. And the talent on the field that game was second to none. 2. Central was beating Middletown late in the game and it took a last minute drive by the Cavs to claim the title. 3. The fact that no one thought Smyrna would beat Sallies and do it how they did was historical. 4. Hodgsons late game heroics was something special I was apart of sitting in their stands with them. 5. Sallies gave Newark everything they could until an incomplete pass in the end zone gave Newark the win to send them to the finals

I was at #5 Newark v Sallies.. great game.. Delpercio was sitting right behind me were you with his crew?

if I recall I think Delpercio and crew were sitting on Newark’s side. My dad and I sat on Sallies side.
