Shame MHS doesn't play Sallies

Sallies did draw a pretty cake 7v7 schedule,, way too many D2 teams actually all but 2 and one of those is Delcastle lol

so far they played

Howard (2-2)
Brandywine (1-3)
AI (3-1)
DMA (1-3)

the rest of their schedule

Delcastle (0-4)
St E's (0-4)
Glasgow (1-3)
McKean (3-1)
Smyrna (3-1)
North east (0-4)

They should be playing Dover, Appo, Mtown, but the bigger issue is there should be more Flight A teams in it

Yeah, Sallies did get a bunch of d2 teams so their results mean nothing. I think maybe they should consider bringing in some pop warner teams to play the D1 schools so they don't have to eff around with scrubby d2 schools.

Totally agree with you buddy. There was a team last year that was so weak that smyrna put 50 points on them before halftime and played their 2nd team the rest of the game. Boy they sucked.

Do you recall which team it was UDelaware? I recall their fans being really whiney and all the fathers looked like they had severe ED

Definitely a weak schedule. Reminds me of Smyrna and MT's yearly season.

I wouldn't say that their schedules a easier than years past.
For instance, Smyrna has Middletown, Sallies, Sussex Central (on the rise), Sussex tech (playoff contender) and Cape Henlopen (contender) and god knows what Franklin MD will present to them.

Middletown has Smyrna, Sallies, William Penn, and Concord. St. Georges could be a surprise contender and who knows what Upper Darby team will show up this year.

That's 5-6 games that should be competitive, however, if Any of those schools can't compete with these two, is it their fault?

Don't get me wrong, I hate having games like Delcastle, I'm usually yawning before the end of the 1st quarter, but it is also nice to have a bye week in sorts with those games, and get the back ups and younger kids to get some playing time.

Delcastle dreads that date too. No one wins.

Teams like Middletown & Smyrna are in conferences and must play those teams .As such , only a select few games can be " chosen" . I think they play , for the most part , the better out of conference teams .

McKean 3-1 ? Oh I see

lost to St Marks beat Delcastle(0-4) Brandywine(1-3) St E's (0-4) ??

Shame MHS doesn't play Sallies

From what I'm hearing and seen if MHS played Sallies it would not be pretty. Sallies has won but they have not been dominate and if scores I heard are correct outside of DMA they have won the other 3 games by less than 10 points total and very easily could be sitting 1-3 or 2-2.

Let me get this straight. This 7x7 stuff is basically flag football with passing. Sallies and passing??? Ha-ha-ha

Were only following it as a 7v7 touch league.. not relating it to real football.. teams that try and win at 7v7 are playing a totally different game anyway..just something to follow until the pads go on

Has anyone ever looked into why Sussex County doesn't have something like this go on? Yeah I get its only 7on7, but you keep the team commoritity?) going into the following season, the QB to WR timing and can stay in a little more shape compared to someone not doing it.

It would benefit greatly, teams like Dover and Smyrna are having to drive to st. Marks, a.i., and caravel every week just to do this when there could be games played at say, Dover, Milford, Sussex central, cape Henlopen, delmar....something to keep those teams going and gives us old heads something to go by a little going into the following season.

HS a few reasons

1) 7v7 league is ran by NCC with the help of HS coaches coordinating as one of their sports leagues. I don't believe Kent or Sussex has a sports office running leagues. Per DIAA rules need an outside group to run the league.
1b) If DIAA wasn't so archaic the coaches themselves would be allowed to set up a 4-5 week lg themselves and run it so the down south teams would have something.
2) Coaches do not want the headache of getting kids together and travel.
2b) Prime example: Out of the 47 DE schools participating in HS varsity football according to Max preps I'm hearing less than half will be playing the DIFCA 7v7 tournament at the Milford turf complex on 7/15.
2c) 19 schools doing NCC 7v7 league 2 are from MD.

I don't understand why teams like HVT, St G, Newark, Penn , Concord, Mt P arent in it

Last I heard the following schools are suppose be down Milford. Trying to get confirmation on all teams but was told they had at least 16.
Smyrna
Middletown
St. Marks
McKean
Concord
St. George's
Hodgson
Tatnall
Lake
Appo
Dover
CR
Sallies

Anyone notice of the teams voiceof just listed for the MILFORD tournament, with the exception of Lake, CR, Dover and Smyrna, it's still loaded with northern teams?

Concerning #2, if coaches don't want their kids focusing on football year round, or at least help in any way to get them in off season training then why are they coaches? Off season preparation whether it's some dingy 7on7 or off season conditioning. It helps the players stay focused on the goal, that's getting better at their craft which usually leads to more wins.

Sorry, end of rant.

They don't get paid to coach in the offseason. I'm glad that my schools coach (Judy) doesthe offseason stuff but I can't blame someone for not working for free. This is America.

But kudos to the ones who do the extra work like off-season programs and even in-season things like making sure the kids have answers to tests before they take them (Middletown). That's called going the extra mile.

I love how you never fail to bring that up, like its some deep hatred you have for Delpercio.

And I hate to burst your bubble, whether it's public or not, whether you think you know or not, the answers to homework and maybe some test, are being done at that beloved school you so highly praise down there in Smyrna.

It wasn't a secret that some kids who played late in the year shouldn't have played, so I wonder how many test answers or "extra credit" was given to those players?

It's not just Smyrna or Middletown for the matter. You can't deny that there are "teachers" giving hand outs to their star athletes in any sport at any school.

Wait. Delpercio did that???

And any hatred I have is for Middletown as a whole, not specific to Del Percio. That's their culture. They've cheated since pop warner football (hence why they were kicked out of the league years ago). Culture.

Some coach for the love of the game some do it for a check some do it to help out kids.

I did hear Cape too but not certain about that but don't know there isn't at lest 28-30 teams participating in this. Think it would be good for the kids and the state

There used to be a 7v7 league at Schutte Park in Dover back in 2004 that may have lasted only a year or 2. Only 3 teams joined, Sussex Central, CR, and Dover. No league is going to continue when the participation levels just aren't there. It just isn't worth it when 90% of the southern teams aren't interested in any leagues for the summer.

Cavs are not participating in the DIFCA 7v7 tournament next Saturday

No offense to Glasgow, I saw that coming. I thought Elkton would have been a more compelling matchup but apparently not.

Smyrna played Caravel... How did those two look?
Sallies played Delcastle and St. Elizabeth's......
Dover played north east and Caravel...

Any report from those as well fellas?
